Netflix Announces New Thriller Series Sirens Starring Julianne Moore

Netflix has just dropped a bombshell announcement: Academy Award-winning actress Julianne Moore is set to star in Sirens, a gripping new supernatural thriller series from the creators of The Haunting of Hill House.

According to sources, Sirens will follow a marine biologist (Moore) who discovers a dark secret lurking in a coastal town after a series of mysterious drownings. As she investigates, she uncovers eerie connections to ancient myths—and realizes the local legends of deadly sirens may be more real than anyone imagined.

The series is described as a mix of The Lighthouse and True Detective, blending psychological horror with maritime folklore. Mike Flanagan, known for his work on Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher, is reportedly in talks to direct multiple episodes.

'Julianne Moore brings an unmatched intensity to this role,' said Netflix VP of Original Content. 'Sirens will be a haunting, visually stunning exploration of obsession and myth—one that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.'

Production is set to begin later this year, with a projected 2026 release. Fans of Moore and supernatural thrillers are already buzzing about what could be Netflix’s next big hit.
