Josh Freese Joins Foo Fighters Full-Time

Drummer Josh Freese Joins Legendary Rock Band Foo Fighters as Permanent Member

Los Angeles, CA – May 17, 2025

In a move that has thrilled rock fans worldwide, the Foo Fighters have officially announced that prolific drummer Josh Freese will be joining the band as their full-time drummer. The decision comes after Freese’s electrifying performances during the band’s 2024-2025 tour, filling the void left by the late, great Taylor Hawkins.

Freese, a seasoned session and touring drummer known for his work with Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer, The Vandals, and Guns N’ Roses, has been a fan-favorite since stepping in for the Foo Fighters’ live shows. His technical prowess and dynamic energy have reinvigorated the band’s sound, earning praise from both critics and longtime supporters.
