It is a show that has long pushed the boundaries with its steamy sex scenes.
And Game Of Thrones was at it again when Jon Snow was shown indulging in a passionate lovemaking session with his blood aunt Daenerys Targaryen.
But far from being disgusted by the on-screen representation of the taboo sexual practice, fans were actually thrilled to see the couple finally get together in the season seven finale on Sunday.

One fan called Alyssa Neumann‏ tweeted: 'So #GameOfThrones has taught me that I'm against twin incest but aunt/nephew incest is totally fine.'
Meanwhile Trent‏ said: 'You wanna know how incredible Game of Thrones is? They not only showed us incest but they had us rooting for it as it happened.'
And Zach Seay‏ said: 'When you're against twin incest but find yourself rooting for an aunt and nephew tandem... #GameofThrones.'
The pair, whose romantic relationship had been getting built up throughout the penultimate season, finally gave into their passion as they sailed north from Dragonstone as they prepare to face off against the dreaded White Walker threat.
Jon sneaked to her quarters and hopefully chapped the door as they were bobbing along , and his queen was only too quick to invite him inside - and not to talk battlefield tactics.

In a rather creepy turn, Daenerys' trusted adviser Tyrion Lannister was shown lingering outside in the shadows and waiting outside as they enjoyed their passionate liaison.
And the 30-year-old's fellow English performer Emilia Clarke once again stripped off as she unleashed the Mother Of Dragon's racier side.

However Daenerys also indulged in carnal relations with Seven Sons mercenary Daario Naharis, who was played by Dutch actor Michiel Huisman.

Jon Snow finally humped his aunt Daenerys.
It was like two naked babies, planking. It was virginal, restrained, un-sexy sex in a show known for nothing if not splashy sex (sometimes literally).
Why were both pairs of legs closed?
Why doesn't Jon Snow have body hair?
Is Daenerys a sentient Willa™ doll ?
Had the two met before? Like ever ?
Were they quiet because they knew Tyrion was listening?

I feel bad for everyone who's waited for these two to bone. I'm not a regular Game of Thrones viewer, but I wanted to come to work Monday with a mind full of pop culture incest— for the watercooler chats , of course. What we got was less arousing than a set of 2x4s slapping together.
Not to descend into parody , but if you're gonna go incest, at least go hot. This was tepid. Cool. Not even warm enough to take a bath in. I felt more arousal when Mr. Melting Face threatened Captain Cockroach Helmet. I'd rather have seen those two get weird.
For research, I watched Jon Snow give something called a "Wildling" an orgasm [Ed. He’s talking about Ygritte. I think. ]—while she was standing— and viewed Daenerys riding a horse man [Ed. Not a man who's a horse, but the Dothraki, because oh god, forget it ]. The point is: I know these two have it in 'em to sex the other good.
Yet: This is not the Game of Thrones sex I was promised. It is not the sex any of us should yearn for. Even apart from the whole blood-relatives-thing, to be clear. Maybe Jon just can't measure up, given the amount of time Dany spends with an actual dragon between her legs. And I know Game of Bones can have good sex scenes. Even good incest sex scenes. Even sex scenes during which important expositional dialogue is interspersed with lines like " PLAY WITH HER ASS " [def NSFW but totally otherwise clickable].
Whatever the case, let's hope they light the fire next season—they'll need it against those White Walkers. Because, while they might be dead, they're still probably having better sex than these two.

It was 2017 when the episode was telecast and at that moment, there was quite a bit of chatter on the Internet about the incestuous relationship

"He loved her, and she loved him..." the narration begins on the season seven finale of ‘Game of Thrones’. With a knock on the door, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen — two characters symbolic of ice and fire — usher crackling chemistry and leave hearts thumping. Ally-turned-lovers Jon and Daenerys see each other and their eyes speak louder than words.
It is a dark night. There's innocence, desire and love. The door shuts down and the odd sex scene plays out. In the next frame, we find out that Jon's real name is Aegon Targaryen. A shocking revelation, it tells fans how Daenerys could be Jon's aunt! "He's never been a b*****d. He's the heir to the Iron Throne," the narration goes. Wait, what? Yes, it was unbelievable when the episode aired.
And in the very next scene, the two actors — Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke — who play Jon and Daenerys are seen naked, caressing and kissing each other passionately. It was 2017 when the episode was telecast and at that moment, there was quite a bit of chatter on the Internet about the incestuous relationship. While many branded the scene as porn, others mocked at how Jon was going to f**k his aunt. "Jon Snow & Daenerys are totally gonna sex. And Jon's face when he finds out it's his aunt = priceless," one wrote and another said, "I’d like #GameOfThrones to dedicate an entire episode to Daenerys and Jon Snow having sex. During the ENTIRE episode. IDEC if they’re related. I want to see it."
Shedding light on how the scene was shot, director Jeremy Podeswa said even in that awkward situation, the actors were both comfortable with each other. "Kit and Emilia have natural chemistry," he told Singapore’s The New Paper. "Filming their first sex scene together could have been awkward, but they are such good friends it all went smoothly. Of course there were some awkward giggles. But we sat down and choreographed and discussed the scene before to make sure everyone was comfortable, so it was quick and easy."
Some, however, many viewers dissed the scene. "That Jon and Daenerys sex scene was so trash, PornHub won't even make a parody version of it," one said and another posted, "I didn't know "Winter is Coming" Is the title of Jon Snow and Daenerys sex tape." Later, when the truth was spilled on the show, one fan posted a meme saying: "Jon: I’m the child of Leanna and Rhaegar Targaryen. Daenerys: Jon: like we’re related and have had sex Daenerys: but like do you want the throne or not?"
Two years later, when Season 8 was released, it not only dampened fans' hopes but also crushed their desire to see another sex scene between the two characters. Moreover, fans were disappointed that the series finale had no sex scene. "We didn’t even get another Daenerys and Jon incestuous sex scene. This is the worst series finale ever," one tweet read.
