Text for those considering joining the Montelibero Association.

Why

There are many reasons to join, here are a few options:

• To avoid being alone. Personal acquaintances are great, but it’s even more reliable to be part of a larger group, which you could never assemble by yourself.
• To more effectively promote the goals and values of the Montelibero movement.
• To more easily find reliable counterparts for entrepreneurship.
• To give Montelibero a Voice.
• To gather not only around money bags and reduce the influence of long euro holders.
• To create your own extraterritorial jurisdiction.

This list is clearly not exhaustive and the order could be improved.

How

First, you need to read a short but important text - the Agreement. It’s like the Association's constitution.

Like everything in Montelibero, we "live" on the Stellar blockchain. The status of membership is also recorded on it.

To join, you need to do two things.

Add the MTLAP Asset

If you have more than one Stellar address, you should choose which one will be your main one, like a business card. It will be associated with your name.

For the chosen address, you need to add the participation asset. For individuals, it’s MTLAP, and for corporate participants - MTLAC. The following instructions are for individuals.

The next action depends on your Stellar wallet.

Or simply open the page https://bsn.expert/tokens/MTLAP and click “Open trustline” — that’s now the easiest and recommended way.

Below is the older instruction for wallet setup, which can be skipped if you use the link above.

@MyMTLWalletBot - a wallet in Telegram. There, you can either use this magic link https://t.me/MyMTLWalletBot?start=asset_MTLAP-mtla_me or a slightly longer way: Main screen, Settings, Add asset, Choose from the list, MTLAP. The main thing is not to forget to confirm the operation, waiting for the blockchain sending stage. Eventually, MTLAP will appear among your tokens with a zero balance.
Lobstr - a large separate application. We have also prepared a magic link for their users - https://eurmtl.me/asset/MTLAP. You can use it or a QR code for scanning from the app, or a little lower another link, for opening. In the end, the Lobstr app should open and ask for operation confirmation. The result will be the appearance of MTLAP in your accounts list with a zero balance.
Solar Wallet and similar, non-custodial wallets. Here, a simple click on the link is not enough. Menu, assets, add, add your asset, and in the opened window you need to fill in two fields:

And for the real hackers, there's always the option to perform the necessary operation in the Stellar Laboratory. There, the operation is Change Trust, and the parameters for it are mentioned in the paragraph above.

Find a Recommender

To join the Association, you need an existing member who can vouch for you. This is done using a BSN tag called RecommendToMTLA.

You probably already know someone in the community. If they are ready to recommend you but don’t know how — send them this magic link: https://bsn.expert/editor/?tag=RecommendToMTLA On that page, they should enter their Stellar address in the first field and yours in the last one, then follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don’t know anyone yet, join our Telegram groups by topics that interest you, get to know people, and at some point just ask: “Friends, I’d like to join MTLA — who could recommend me?” Most likely, you’ll quickly find someone willing!

Expressing the Desire to Join

This step is much simpler.

Contact the Telegram bot @MTLA_join_bot. It will carefully guide you through all the necessary steps.

What Next?

Usually, you need to wait a few days for the Association Council to gather its multi-signature for the distribution of participation tokens. One of them will come to you. Most likely, you will soon be invited to the main Assembly chat.
