John Mulaney Announces New Stand-Up Special and Nationwide Tour

Los Angeles, CA – October 10, 2023

Comedian John Mulaney has officially announced his highly anticipated new stand-up special, 'Back on Track,' set to premiere on Netflix in early 2024. Alongside the special, Mulaney revealed plans for a nationwide tour, kicking off in January 2024. The tour, titled 'The Comeback Kid: Part Two,' will visit over 30 cities across the United States, marking his first major tour since his widely publicized personal struggles and subsequent recovery.

In a heartfelt statement, Mulaney expressed his gratitude to fans for their support during what he called 'a very weird few years.'

'I’ve been through a lot, and I’ve learned even more,' Mulaney said. 'This new material is my way of sharing the absurdity, the chaos, and the hope that comes with starting over. Plus, I finally have some new stories that don’t involve me being a complete mess—well, not as much of a mess.'

The announcement comes on the heels of Mulaney's successful 'From Scratch' tour, which addressed his rehab stint, divorce, and becoming a father. Fans praised his candidness and ability to find humor in even the darkest moments.

Netflix has yet to release a specific premiere date for 'Back on Track,' but sources close to the production confirm that filming will take place during the tour’s final stop in New York City.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, October 20, at 10 a.m. local time. Given Mulaney's track record of selling out venues within minutes, fans are already bracing for a competitive ticket-buying experience.

In true Mulaney fashion, he ended his announcement with a joke: 'If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to rebuild your life while also trying to make people laugh, come on out. And if you’re just here for the jokes, don’t worry—I’ve got those too.'
