John Krasinski Directs Sci-Fi Thriller Echoes

John Krasinski to Direct and Star in New Sci-Fi Thriller

Los Angeles, April 5, 2025 – Fresh off the success of his recent projects, actor and filmmaker John Krasinski is set to helm a new sci-fi thriller, Echoes of Tomorrow, for Paramount Pictures. The A Quiet Place director will also star in the lead role, marking his return to the screen in a high-concept genre film.

According to insiders, Echoes of Tomorrow follows a scientist who discovers a way to communicate with his future self, only to unravel a conspiracy that could alter the course of humanity. The script, penned by acclaimed writer Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising), has been kept under tight wraps, but sources describe it as a mix of cerebral sci-fi and gripping suspense.

Krasinski, best known for his role as Jim Halpert in The Office and his work on the A Quiet Place franchise, has steadily built a reputation as a versatile filmmaker. His upcoming project continues his trend of blending intimate storytelling with high-stakes tension.

'John has an incredible ability to merge emotional depth with edge-of-your-seat thrills,' said Paramount’s CEO Brian Robbins. 'We’re thrilled to be collaborating with him on this ambitious new film.'

Production is expected to begin in late 2025, with a potential 2026 release. Krasinski is also rumored to be developing a fourth A Quiet Place installment, though no official announcement has been made.

Fans of the actor-director can next see him in the family comedy IF (Imaginary Friends), set to premiere later this year.
