Veteran adult film star Joey Ray has died at the age of 51. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Joey had starred in more than 700 movies and was found dead on Saturday evening.
Joey's co-star Seth Gamble paid tribute to him and told AVN that the award-winning porn star began his career in the adult industry in 2000 and had a heart of gold. He said, "I met Joey when I was 18 years old, him and Dale were the first people to shoot me. It was kind of like, let us take this kid under our wing and show him what we know, good and bad."
Gamble added, "I was green when I met them, and they definitely showed me how to toughen up my skin for this industry that we are in." Talking well of the deceased star, he said, "He was one of the funniest guys I ever knew. He was a creative guy, he loved being in the business, he had a heart of gold."
Seth said he had not seen Joey in the last few years because he was going down a bad path.
Porn actor and director Dale DaBone said that he was not able to come to terms with the news and could not understand what to say.
He said, "I do not even know what to think right now. It was easy when I kind of cut everything off, I was thinking of all the bad things that happened, but now the only thing I can think of is 25 years of all the fun, crazy, dumb sh*t that we used to do."
Dale also added, "We always had each other's back. All those times, that is all I can think about right now."
Gamble said that anybody who knew Joey also knew that he had some flaws, but he just wanted to say that all he knew about Ray was good. He was the funniest guys he knew. He said, "He would have you pis**ng in your pants."
In a video, Dale said that Ray was a guy who would always screw up but he never expected that he would take such a severe step in his life.

Tributes are pouring in for retired adult film star and director Joey Ray, who was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at age 51.
Ray starred in more than 700 movies and was a key director for film studio Bang Bros and BigDaddy.com .
Fellow porn star Seth Gamble paid tribute to his pal, describing him as having “a heart of gold,” but acknowledged Ray “had some flaws” and was “going down a bad path” before his death on Saturday.
“He was one of the funniest guys I ever knew — he would have you just p***ing in your pants,” Gamble told AVN , adding that Ray was a creative guy who loved being in the business and “had a heart of gold.”
Adult entertainer and director Dale DaBone, who had lost touch with Ray, took to Facebook to share how much the Bang Bros performer would be missed.
“I don’t even know what to think right now. It was easy when I kind of cut everything off, I was thinking of all the bad things that happened,” said DaBone.
“But now the only thing I can think of is 25 years of all the fun, crazy, dumb s*** that we used to do and all the silly s*** that we used to do.”
He added: “And we always had each other’s backs. All those times … that’s all I can think about right now.”
