POSITION LOCATION: Tashkent, Uzbekistan

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part Time (20-25 hours/week)

Through academic exchanges, overseas language immersion, and educational development programs, American Councils has designed and administered innovative programs that broaden individual perspectives, increase knowledge, and deepen understanding for more than 40 years across more than 80 countries.

American Councils Uzbekistan is seeking for a motivated Part Time Intern to support day to day operations and administrative tasks, including data management, documentation tracking, participant communications, social media outreach, alumni engagement, and assistance with program activities and related American Councils initiatives. This position reports to the Program Coordinator, and the intern will work closely with other program staff members.


Job Responsibilities

The Part Time Intern will work closely with the American Councils Uzbekistan office. The Intern will work 20–25 hours per week for 3 months. Any potential extension of the internship will be considered on a case by case basis. Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting data management and administrative tasks, including collecting, reviewing, and organizing participant documents and information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Assisting in quality checking and tracking required documentation throughout all stages of the program cycle.

• Leading and supporting communications with participants, including responding to email inquiries, making phone calls, and scheduling interviews and meetings.

• Assisting with social media content creation: brainstorming ideas, drafting captions, filming, and editing short videos and visual materials to support outreach.

• Helping manage program related messaging and maintaining timely and professional communication across channels.

• Communicating with alumni and supporting alumni engagement and event coordination.

• Supporting planning and coordination of program activities, as well as additional American Councils initiatives as assigned.


Qualifications

• Currently enrolled university students (3rd or 4th year bachelor students or graduate students).

• Must speak, read, and write Uzbek and Russian with native level proficiency; fluency in English.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience using Zoom.

• Experience with Canva, CapCut, and basic video shooting or editing is a strong asset.

• Outstanding time management, organization, and planning skills.

• Proactive, independent, and flexible approach to task management.

• Demonstrated excellence in communication and multicultural interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility to occasionally work on weekends and evenings.

• Familiarity with American Councils programs is a plus.

• Applicants who have submitted applications to any American Councils program may still apply. If selected for the internship, however, they will be required to withdraw their program application and will not be eligible to participate in that program during or after the internship.

THIS IS AN UNPAID TEMPORARY PART-TIME POSITION. Upon successful completion of the internship, Interns will receive a certificate and quality work references from American Councils.
