Jillian Beyor's life hasn't been lacking excitement since she graduated from Winnisquam Regional High School in 2004. The small-town girl from Northfield has turned into one of Playboy Magazines top models since moving to Miami and her images have garnered enough attention to see her traveling the world for photo-shoots and star on cable television's "Beauty and the Geek."
And while Beyor's relative fame has her looking to stay in the entertainment business, the recently named 2008 Playboy Model of the Year hasn't forgotten her roots.
"I was just home two weeks ago. I love coming back home to see friends and family and I do it twice a year. I love the Tilton House of Pizza ... I have to eat there," said Beyor.
Beyor grew up in Northfield, the daughter of Randy and Winona Beyor, and she said all of her relatives still live in the Granite State.
The Winnisquam graduate didn't know what she wanted to do after high school was over and she ended up heading south to Daytona, Florida where she studied real estate and communications at Daytona Beach Community College.
Beyor said her career in magazines began when she started doing swimsuit modeling and she never looked back.
She recalled traveling to Miami regularly and coming back to school to find out she wouldn't be able to graduate, so she moved to Miami where she was discovered by Playboy.
"I just decided to just move to Miami and model full time ... I love living near the beach," said Beyor.
Her legions of fans first took notice when she appeared in Playboy 's College Girls 2006 and she later went on to appear in a total of eight Playboy " Special Editions ."
Beyor said the leap from swimsuit modeling to doing more revealing shoots was natural, though she admitted being nervous on her first shoot. She said she got a call from Playboy only a day or two after she was discovered, so she didn't have too much time to deliberate over the decision.
"It was a little overwhelming at first, but now I've been with them for a little over a year. The first shoot I was shaking and so nervous, but now I'm comfortable with them," said Beyor.
She said many view Playboy as a huge corporate entity, but she described it more of a close tight-knit "family."
When asked about how her real family responded to her decision to do nude photos, she responded by saying they are very supportive, despite their initial reservations.
"I kind of got in (to the business) and told them after the fact," said Beyor.
Beyor said she was actually at one of her Playboy shoots when her mother called and asked her what she was doing lately.
She said hadn't told her parents, but knew it was time to let them in on her career choice.
"After the shoot I just told her (my mother) and she was asking, 'are you sure you want to do this,'" said Beyor.
Beyor said the decision was among the best she has made and her modeling career has taken of sending he to places like Spain and Greece. She recently appeared on the cover of Australian "People" magazine and she was also a featured Playboy character on the television series "Beauty and the Geek."
She has her own website that lists her as a "Playmate," "Cybergirl" and "Actress."
Beyor said she misses New Hampshire, but assured it doesn't stack up to the excitement she finds living in Miami, where she hosts event parties.
She said some of her fellow Playboy models have told her horror stories about going back to their small towns and having locals react negatively to their career choice, but she said the people she knows have been supportive despite being a bit surprised.
"I wasn't sure how people would react because I was kind of a good girl in school," said Beyor.
Beyor will be featured in a 7-page pictorial in Playboy's Lingerie August/September 2008 issue, which hits the newsstands on July 1.
