Jessica Chastain stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to promote her new film The Huntsman: Winter’s War , which, despite having an all-star cast that includes Chastain, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, and Chris Hemsworth, is getting universally panned by critics. Still though, those negative reviews don’t seem to have gotten Chastain down, as she was her usual bubbly and lovely self on the late night show last night, even sharing a story with Kimmel about her awkward experience with a stripper in Las Vegas.
So when and how does this situation happen? Well, it was during a bachlorette party that Chastain was throwing for her friend Jess, who is apparently a huge fan of the Magic Mike films. Since she likes those movies so much, Chastain thought it would be fun to take her to Thunder Down Under, but it was not what she expected.
“We want into this theater, and I’m thinking it’s going to be like a revue, a theater,” she explains. “And it’s like a black box room with folding chairs and tables, and it’s kind of smelly a little bit. And then this woman comes over to me, and she goes, ‘Hello Miss Chastain. We’re so happy you’re here. Here’s our photographer from Getty Images.’ And I was like, ‘Please, I do not want a picture with some strange guy’s junk in my face on the internet.'”
After Chastain admittedly “freaked out a little bit,” the woman went backstage and told the strippers to leave her alone while they were performing, which they did, for the most part. Since Chastain was in the front row and her friend had gotten brought up on stage, one particular stripper kept making eye contact with the Huntsman star with one of the most interesting facial expressions you will ever see.

She's come a long way since the squeaky-clean 7th Heaven
She found fame playing a reverend’s daughter in cookie cutter nineties show, 7th Heaven.
But fans of the saintly series will barely recognise Jessica Biel in her latest role, in which she plays a suburban-wife-turned-killer who brutally murders a complete stranger in front of her husband and son.
Set in upstate New York, The Sinner begins with Cora Tannetti, played by Jessica, contemplating suicide as she takes a swim in a busy lake.
But instead of killing herself, she flies into a rage and stabs a stranger seven times with the knife she was using to peel an apple.
In Jessica's most graphic role yet, she then strips naked to wash away the stranger’s blood, and is also shown engaging in a racy sex scene with her husband.
Spread across eight episodes, the whodunnit is based on the novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr, and follows cops as they struggle to find a motive for the murder.
Flashbacks hint at Cora's abusive childhood and repressed sexuality, and Jessica, who produced the series, said the role enabled her to exorcise some of her own demons.
"I have challenges standing up for myself sometimes. Times when I don't trust my own voice. And that's the stuff I needed to bring out and explore to understand Cora," Jessica, who is married to Justin Timberlake, told Marie Claire.
"It's like a drug, like an adrenaline rush. There's a real catharsis…” she said of being able to act crazy.
“You’re exhausted, you are free; you feel a lot of different things. For me, it's like a rebirth. Like I'm a phoenix rising up out of the ashes."
