Jesse Plemons to Star in Psychological Thriller

Breaking News: Jesse Plemons to Star in and Produce New Psychological Thriller Series

Los Angeles, CA – October 10, 2023

Acclaimed actor Jesse Plemons, known for his standout performances in Fargo, Breaking Bad, and The Power of the Dog, is stepping into a new role both in front of and behind the camera. Plemons has signed on to star in and executive produce a new limited series titled Echoes in the Dark, a psychological thriller set to premiere on a major streaming platform in late 2024.

The series, created by Emmy-winning writer Sarah Treem (The Affair), follows the story of a small-town detective (played by Plemons) who becomes entangled in a decades-old mystery after the discovery of a hidden bunker on the outskirts of his quiet community. As he digs deeper, he uncovers disturbing connections to his own family, blurring the lines between reality and paranoia.

Plemons expressed his excitement about the project in a statement: 'This story really grabbed me from the first read. It’s a complex, layered narrative that explores themes of memory, identity, and the secrets we keep from ourselves. I’m thrilled to be working with such a talented team and to take on this new challenge as a producer.'

The series will also feature an all-star cast, including recent Emmy winner Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) as a mysterious journalist who aids Plemons' character in his investigation, and veteran actor Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) as a reclusive local historian with ties to the case.

Production is set to begin early next year in Plemons' home state of Texas, with acclaimed director Karyn Kusama (The Invitation, Destroyer) helming the first two episodes. The project marks Plemons' first foray into producing, a move that industry insiders say could signal a new chapter in his already impressive career.

Fans of Plemons can also look forward to seeing him in Kinds of Kindness, the upcoming film from Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite, Poor Things), which is currently in post-production and expected to debut at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
