Petrescu, who took over as the seventh head coach of Jeonbuk in June last year, decided to end his journey in Jeonbuk after an away game against Jeju on the 3rd.

The home game against Gangwon on the 7th will be replaced by coach Park Won-jae and other domestic coaches.

Jeonbuk said that head coach Petrescu has been making a smooth handover through prior communication with the domestic coaches so that there is no disruption in preparation for the game against Gangwon.

"It was a happy time to be able to work with the best players and fans in the best team in Asia," Petrescu said. "Jeonbuk is a team that has to go higher. I am sorry that it did not meet fans' expectations, and I am grateful for the passionate cheering all the time. I am grateful to the club that provided generous support during my tenure, as well as the players and the coaching staff who trusted me and played hard. I will cherish my experience, time, and affection for the team in my heart, and support Jeonbuk even when I return to my home country."

Meanwhile, Jeonbuk said it will soon appoint a replacement coach to meet the team's rebound and fans' expectations, and domestic coaches such as Park Won-jae, Cho Sung-hwan and Choi Eun-sung will lead the team for the time being.
