Jennifer Lopez Cancels Summer Tour Amid Low Ticket Sales and Personal Struggles

Los Angeles, May 27, 2024 – Pop superstar Jennifer Lopez has officially canceled her highly anticipated This Is Me… Live summer tour, citing a need to focus on her personal life amid reports of sluggish ticket sales.

The tour, which was set to kick off in Orlando on June 26, was abruptly called off just weeks before its start. Live Nation, the tour’s promoter, confirmed the cancellation in a statement, saying, 'Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.'

Industry insiders suggest that weak demand played a significant role in the decision. Several shows had reportedly failed to sell out, with some venues offering deep discounts to boost attendance. Lopez, 54, had planned a massive production, including elaborate choreography and costume changes, but high production costs combined with underwhelming ticket revenue may have forced the move.

The cancellation comes amid ongoing speculation about Lopez’s marriage to actor Ben Affleck. The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in 2022, have been the subject of breakup rumors in recent months. Affleck has been noticeably absent from many of Lopez’s public appearances, fueling further speculation.

Lopez has not yet commented publicly on the tour’s cancellation, but sources close to the singer say she is 'disappointed' but prioritizing her well-being. This marks the latest setback in a challenging year for the multi-talented star, whose recent album This Is Me… Now and accompanying film received mixed reviews.

Fans who purchased tickets will receive automatic refunds, according to Live Nation.
