Very clean, quiet place with a private garden, a super friendly landlord and everything you could possibly wish for! It is marvelous, book it and see for yourself! Yes, it is a bit remote but everything you need is within 8-15 minutes of driving range. Dublin is near, you have good access to the north city by car, and you can opt for public transport to get to the city. Next stop is quite a distance, so you are better off with a car and park'n'ride. Two dogs on property, both very friendly and well behaved.

When we first went in I had a quick look around as we had a 2 year old and 4 year old with us I worried if the floors were clean enough. They were!
We were kindly provided with juice, tea, coffee and cereal for breakfast. Microwave was available for use too.
I was considering taking a bed rail with us but didn't bother, I was impressed to see one was provided.
A very very short drive to tayto park and very easy to get to. Dunnes, tesco, aldi and mcdonalds are all about a 5 minute drive away in Ashbourne.
There was a guest handbook which had a few fast food menus available, we easily ordered food in both nights.
The 2 cats on the grounds were a huge hit with my daughters and it definitely made them feel more at home.
With a young family I was a bit wary if it would meet my expectations but it did.
The garden is lovely with wee fairy doors and a garden bench where we were able to sit outside whilst our daughters played on their bikes. Also has a wee tree swing which was also a huge hit! We met the owner as we were leaving - lovely lady.
We enjoyed this more than the hotel we stayed in last year, it just made the holiday easier not being confined to a room.
Will hopefully stay again next year and I've already recommended this place to friends. Glad we found it!!

Hôtel très propre, literie très confortable. Nous n'avons pas pris de petit déjeuner car un avion à prendre tôt. Le repas du soir était succulent (ragoût d'agneau) ainsi que le dessert. Piscine très propre (sur réservation). Aéroport à proximité. Hôtel situé en pleine nature, au calme, non loin de Dublin. Personnel à l'écoute. Je recommande.

The Byre is a semi-detached, single-storey barn conversion cottage in open countryside, half a mile from the village of Hollington and just under six miles from Ashbourne. The cottage has one double and one twin bedroom (can be super king-size double on request) and a family bathroom making it suitable for four people. The cottage also contains a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars and an enclosed lawned garden with furniture. Close to the Peak District and Alton Towers, this cottage is ideal, no matter what you want from your holiday home.
The village of Hollington provides home to a scattering of traditional cottages, farmhouses and barn conversions, whilst offering a number of country pubs. Nearby Ashbourne has much to offer with a good selection of restaurants.

lovely peaceful little place, very comfortable & absolutely spotless. Hosts were friendly & on hand if required. The attention to detail at the byre is excellent, quality beds & bedding & the little touches on arrival were very much enjoyed & appreciated by all
The property is very well appointed, clean and comfortable. It is fully equipped, including kitchen utensils, which we quite often find is lacking with similar accommodation, so a definite plus point for our party as we like to cook when away! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. A recommended visit to the nearby Red Lion pub and its famous pies is well worth it and excellent value
