Our client is a fast growing BIG DATA company in Berlin. Since launch, the firm has become one of the leaders in their field with offices around the world. They provide services that enable their B2B customers to improve their relationship with their end consumers. They work in a very open and very international team environment. They are now looking for a Senior Backend Engineer for their office in their Berlin headquarters.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Java 8 (Backend), ideally also with Scala
• Experience in Spring Framework, Rest APIs, Git, Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Passion for big data and for developing architecture, conception and implementation of backend systems
• Great at thinking analytical and conceptualizing architecture and software design
• Desire to build scalable and high-performance systems
• Have worked closely with product and QA teams
• Are focused on ensuring clean code
• Trained in foundations of computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and high-level design patterns
• API design and third-party integration is something you have done in the past
• Implementation of clean code and conventions in full lifecycle development
• Comfortable in working in an agile team environment
• Understanding of continuous integration and delivery

The tech stack includes (NOT all required):

• Microservice architecture
• NoSQL (MongoDB, Couchbase), Cassandra, PostgreSQL,
• Big Data (Kafka, Spark, Hadoop)
• Geo tools (PostGIS)
• Good English-language skills essential to work in an international team
