Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Java Specialist. The Java Specialist will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, focusing on robust, scalable, and secure solutions. Day-to-day tasks include implementing and reviewing code, creating and integrating microservices, applying design patterns, and working with Jakarta EE components. The role involves collaborating with other developers, troubleshooting technical issues, writing technical documentation, and participating in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices. The Java Specialist will also help optimize existing systems and contribute to architectural decisions.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Software Development and Programming, with a focus on Java.
* Experience working with Jakarta EE for enterprise-grade applications.
* Hands-on experience designing and implementing Microservices architectures.
* Proficiency in applying Design Patterns to build maintainable and scalable solutions.
* Familiarity with RESTful APIs, build tools (e.g., Maven or Gradle), and version control (e.g., Git).
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time schedules, and meet deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with attention to code quality and testing.
* Effective communication skills and experience collaborating in distributed teams.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
