Japan orders PAC-3 Patriot missiles.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense has ordered PAC-3 MSE Patriot missiles for its own armed forces. This is not related to the situation around Iran, as the contract was concluded in December 2025. This became known now from a published document.

The cost of the deal is 275 million $. As of the beginning of 2026, there are 24 "Patriot" batteries in Japan, consisting of approximately 120 launchers. These units are combined into six anti-aircraft groups, each of which is responsible for protecting strategically important areas of the Japanese archipelago.
