Former Mad Men actress January Jones recently took to Instagram to share a topless selfie that left little to fans' imaginations. In the photo, Jones snapped a photo of herself in a pair of black underwear and nothing else except some "uneven boob tape" covering her breast, if only barely. "This post will self destruct in 5, 4, 3, 2…" the actress quipped in the post caption. See the photo here.
Many of Jones' celebrity friends commented on the post, with comedian Chelsea Handler joking, "Omg- I thought this was a picture of me." Fans have also been commenting on the post, with one person quipping, "Don Draper would never let Betty post that," referring to Jones' character from the drama series. "Are you trying to break the internet?" someone else asked. "I just did the most sincere triple-take of my lifetime," one last Instagram user commented.
Jones is a 43-year-old actress who is most well-known for playing Betty Draper, wife (and later ex-wife) of Jon Hamm's Don Draper, for all seven seasons of Mad Men . Jones earned two Golden Globe nominations and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her performance in the series. She also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series twice, along with the rest of the Mad Men cast.
After Mad Men ended, Jones immediately jumped over to the Fox sitcom The Last Man on Earth , starring alongside Will Forte, Kristen Schaal, Mel Rodriguez, Cleopatra Coleman, and Mary Steenburgen. The hilariously funny series ran for four seasons and was nominated for numerous Primetime Emmy Awards and Critics' Choice Television Awards during its run. Unfortunately, it was canceled by Fox in 2018.
Most recently, Jones appeared in a small role on Netflix's The Politician , playing Lisbeth Sloan, mother of Lucy Boynton's Astrid Sloan. Jones also appeared in Spinning Out , another Netflix series, about "a young ice skater (played by Kaya Scodelario) who suffers a serious injury and is given the opportunity to restart her career as a pairs skater all while hiding her family's history of mental illness." Jones played Carol Baker, the mother of Scodelario's character, who also suffers from bipolar disorder and was once a figure skater herself.
In addition to all of her TV credits, Jones has also appeared in a number of films. Some of her more notable credits include Bandits , Anger Management , American Wedding , We Are Marshall , and X-Men: First Class . Next up, fans will be able to see Jones in God is a Bullet , a gritty thriller written and directed by Nick Cassevetes. The film will co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maika Monroe, and Jamie Foxx.

I feel like a total boob. This morning, I got an e-mail from GQ alerting me to a new interview about the magazine's November cover shot of January Jones, which I speculated yesterday was heavily Photoshopped to make her breasts pop. Asked whether they messed with her cleavage, photo editor Dora Somosi responds: "No, absolutely not." She explains that Terry Richardson, the extremely talented photog behind the shoot, has a preference for "harder lighting" which "can create a stronger shadow -- that, and body position and perspective could give the illusion that her breasts are bigger."
Let me offer a glimpse of how this all transpired behind-the-scenes: My editor Sarah Hepola sent me an e-mail Wednesday morning with the subject line, "What the hell happened to January Jones' breasts?" She linked to the striking image and signed off with: "Bazoonga!" Yes, I thought, her cleavage does look rather unnatural. (For the record: I called them "porny" in my original post not because they were big but because they defied gravity in a manner that looked rather fake to me.) I published the item -- thinking of it as fun, ephemeral -- and turned to more pressing matters.
Then readers began questioning my assumption in the post's letters thread. A couple male coworkers argued that, hey, they also thought the photo looked legit. Hah! Sarah and I laughed. They just didn't understand. After all, women know real breasts and we know the ubiquity of heavily retouched women.
Oh, but I should have known better: As a teen, I spent uncountable hours propping up my breasts and smooshing them together to simulate the cleavage-to-chin look of Victoria's Secret models. I well know that slender women like Jones with anything above a B-cup can achieve this look with the right pose, outfit, lighting, camera angle or all of the above. Heck, I've been insulted in the past when a friend asked if my breasts were fake simply because of the way they sat on my slight build -- but there I was doing a very similar thing to Jones.
Why was I so quick to jump to the Photoshopping conclusion? Because it is so pervasive. My default setting is: Objects in magazine are other than they appear. After seeing the glossy rag beauty ideal you've grown up with revealed as a sham, it's easy to develop a defensiveness about such things. I wasn't the only one whose retouching radar was set off by the cover shot , either. Regardless, I'm sorry GQ. I said in my original post that I thought you were better than all that -- and you are.

"My skincare ritual is pretty high maintenance, but I love it."
January Jones , 44, just shared a hilarious selfie in her latest Instagram story. In the photo, January poses topless while wearing a black bonnet. And TBH, I can't get over how amazing her skin looks.
The actress captioned her story, "Can't decide if I can be one of those cute bonnet wearers."
January is no stranger to taking some seriously stunning (and funny) no-makeup selfies. Back in December, January shared a post showcasing her annual skincare favorites on Instagram.
For her morning routine, she uses the iS Clinical Super Serum Advance Plus to help with pigmentation . She also adds on the Allies of Skin Peptides Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment to help repair damaged skin cells and premature aging.
For moisturizers, she reaches for the Tata Harper Crème Riche Anti-Aging Night Cream. On other days she'll use The Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm Concentrate from May Lindstrom Skin.
Her top-notch skincare game doesn't come as a surprise considering how much she enjoys the process. In 2016, January told Elle that she has a set beauty routine that she does every day.
"My skincare ritual is pretty high maintenance, but I love it," she said. "I don't get facials, I do them at home, so I love doing exfoliation masks and moisture masks and serums and creams and eye patches. I just love all that stuff."
Speaking of moisture masks, January uses Allies of Skin 1A Retinal + Peptides Overnight Mask while she sleeps. She's also a big fan of Biologique Recherche's Lotion P50 as well.
While there's no denying that January is skincare goals with all the products she has, she still has some personal favorites, which includes products like Kiehl's Ginger Leaf and Hibiscus Firming Mask , the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion , and the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask .
