An increase in the size of cocaine seizures in Jamaica suggests that the island is playing a stronger role in international drug trafficking, as cocaine production soars in Colombia. Jamaican authorities seized over 1, kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a container on a ship at the Port of Kingston on January 14, according to a Twitter post by the Jamaican Defence Force JDF , responsible for maritime drug interdiction efforts.
