American Dragon Jake Long is a FANDOM TV Community.
Rose (alias Huntsgirl ) is the main romantic love interest, crush, and girlfriend of the titular character throughout most of their relationship until the events of " Homecoming ."

Unknown to her for most of her life, she has an identical twin sister whose first name and whereabouts are unknown, even after all of history was rewritten by Jake's irreversible wish for Rose to have the normal life she had wanted.

Rose is well-known for being a considerably attractive young woman. She has long blonde hair, baby blue eyes (astral blue in Season 2) and a slender, almost hourglass-like figure. Also, in her next year of school, she is shown to have pierced ears. She has a birthmark on her right palm and wrist resembling a Chinese dragon, otherwise known as the " Mark of the Huntsclan ".

When first encountered as the Huntsgirl, her Huntsclan uniform was green with black ku-lii slippers. However, upon returning to the Huntsclan Academy, it was changed to a dark purple-red with black boots. When she moved to Hong Kong, she wore a white tee-shirt that has blue borders (the shirt changed to a v-neck with no borders), hot pink pants (changed to Turkish pink and removed the red rose), a headband and clog-like sandals (changed to look more flat). In Season 2, she appeared with a flower necklace, light blue earrings, a brown belt and doesn't wear a headband. This clothing was replaced with her new school's uniform which is the norm for Hong Kong schools indicating she goes to a private school. The school's colors may be yellow and blue. During the scene where she helps battle The Dark Dragon however, she wears black gloves, a dark red shirt under a black leather jacket, dark red pants with a black belt, and black high-heeled boots.

Rose was a member of the Huntsclan . Initially, Rose revealed very little about her past or history. She was simply "the new girl" at Jake Long 's school, and nothing was really found out about her early childhood until much later in their relationship.

According to her the Huntsclan was her only family for as long as she could remember – saying earliest memory was "lying in my Hunts-crib, crying out for my Hunts-nanny to change my Hunts-diaper" [1] . Her skills were exceptional enough to have been accepted as apprentice to the Huntsman himself while working in the field in New York . Taken under his wing as his ward, he personally indoctrinated her with his views about magical creatures as being disgusting and unnatural, and in the methods of hunting.

During a class ski trip [2] , Jake discovered Rose was also the Huntsgirl and was uncertain whether to love or fight the woman of his dreams, but eventually realized that he strongly cared about her and that his strong romantic feelings for her were indeed mutual and genuine. Which later prompted him to reveal to her his identity as the American Dragon while being hunted by the Huntsclan along with other captive magical beings.

Rose had been told by the Huntsman that both of her biological parents died shortly after she was born before being taken in and raised by the Huntsclan. However during a shared dream experience where she and Jake spent time together while asleep, she discovered that her parents as well as a twin sibling did not die. Rather, the Huntsman, as well as Huntsclan members working undercover in the hospital, kidnapped Rose shortly after her birth, having noticed her dragon-shaped birthmark. The names and whereabouts of her family remained largely unknown until after her wish for the Huntsclan to be destroyed, where having never been taken by the Huntsclan, she and her family moved to Hong Kong , China [3] . However, her twin remained unseen.

After Rose's wish for all Huntsmen to be destroyed—herself included, Jake immediately wished she had never been a member of the Huntsclan. This ended their relationship until the Dark Dragon attacked the Dragon Council in Hong Kong and Rose regained her memory after being shown a picture of her and Jake at the dance. In a display of her innate natural prowess and abilities, she helped Jake fight and defeat the Dark Dragon [4] . After finding out Jake's secret, her 2 lives blended into one as she reviewed for herself what was right and decided to help Jake protect the magical world, eventually losing all of her memory of the Huntsclan due to the same wish Jake made.

Initially, her two sides were kept a secret, and as Rose was generally sweet and caring, but rather modest and somewhat shy. As the Huntsgirl, her good-hearted and sweet personality was almost the complete opposite: a daring, dedicated, and somewhat vicious persona filled her duties as a Huntsclan apprentice. She shared the same beliefs of the Huntsclan – of the vile and unnatural nature of magical creatures, especially dragons – and was compelled to carry out actions with that mindset.

Rose's more violent nature as the Huntsgirl often surfaced in her normal identity as she began to try and associate with Jake and his duties. It also caused her more "normal" life as Rose to surface in her duties as the Huntsgirl, which had her being perceived as acting oddly in the face of the Clan and her superior.

A few of her "normal" interests included an obsession over teen sensation Jaren MacCarther [5] , as well as a talent for acting as she won the lead female role in the Millard Fillmore Middle School production of Antony and Cleopatra [6] .

More of her natural abilities can be illustrated through her acts as the Huntsgirl. Rose has amazing acrobatic skills, as she is seen making tremendous leaps and bounds while fighting with large magical creatures [7] [8] . She also has skill in hand-to-hand fighting and other physical combat techniques as well as skilled use in almost all of the Huntsclan's frequently used weaponry, of which the most primary one being a staff/spear which all Huntsclan members seem to carry. She is also a good archer with excellent accuracy [9] . She has also shown a somewhat deep understanding of various magical creatures and items, even discovering the various aspects of the "Dream Corridor" through her Dream Charm [1] .

Like Jake Long , Rose must deal with the personal conflicts in her life by being both Rose and the Huntsgirl. That is, until when Jake wished she had never been taken from her parents by the Huntsclan, thereby erasing her life as Huntsgirl from ever happening [3] .

By Rose secretly being the Huntsgirl, apprentice to the Huntsman , made her situation a parallel to Jake's, as neither were allowed to have what could be called a normal childhood experience. A good example of this was during the days leading up to the school play in which Jake looked forward to the opportunity to kiss her [6] , and they were trying to rehearse their parts while also as Huntsgirl and American Dragon were fighting for possession of a Magical Scarab. Her secret identity was exposed while on a school ski trip weekend [2] , even though she was unaware Jake was a dragon and thus knew it until much later [9] . Eventually [3] , her life as the Huntsgirl was erased when Jake used the Aztec Skulls in order to save her from actual destruction by wishing she had never been kidnapped by the Huntsman.

"Just trust that I really have feelings for you, but we need to spend some time apart."
Rose meets Jake for the first time.
Bumping into Jake as she was starting to attend Millard Fillmore Middle School , Rose instantly became the object of his strong and pure romantic love and affections. At first, she was not too romantically involved with Jake, and agreed to go with Brad , to the upcoming school dance. While at the dance, Brad ditched her for Jake's date Jasmine , finding the latter to be prettier. Noticing Rose's heartbreak, Jake approached her and asked her to dance, saying that he wanted to dance with the prettiest girl in the room. After this, she showed more interest in Jake, and gradually began to spend more time with him at school sponsored functions, such as a dance [10] , rehearsing for a school play [6] , and eventually even a first date while on a class ski trip [2] . She even went as far as to allow Jake over to her home to rehearse for the play, knowing that the Huntsman would never allow her to bring guests over.

Rose's life as the Huntsgirl was something which kept interfering with her time with Jake, causing her to miss out on the play and take off right before the two could share their first kiss. Jake eventually discovered Rose to actually be the person who he had been fighting for months, and became hesitant to even spend mere seconds around her. She became rather worried, displaying apparent feelings for Jake, for his avoidance of her. During her participation in the Huntsclan's Grand Equinox Hunt, she soon started to realize that there was a rather familiar persona from the American Dragon, despite him being a creature she had been wanting to slay ever since she first laid eyes upon him [9] . Her suspicion turned out to be correct, as Jake revealed his identity just as she was about to slay him. Surprised and confused, she quickly ran off, sparing his life. Jake learned later at school that Rose had transferred to an unknown school, only leaving behind a photo taken of the two at a school dance for him.

Because of her failure to slay the American Dragon, Rose was sent back to the Huntsclan Academy, where she was kept in the dark about the Huntsclan's plans. Despite this, she did eventually catch wind of a terrible plot by the Huntsman, and used her dream charm bracelet to enter Jake's dreams and warn him. Jake asked what would happen to her, and she told him not to try to save her. Jake tells her that she's worth the danger, and kisses her. Sometime later, Jake and Spud showed up at the Huntsclan Academy, disguised as Huntsclan Trainees trying to recover the details of the Huntsman's plot [7] . Surprised and happy to see Jake again, she decided to help them with their mission. After Jake's identity as a dragon was compromised, the Huntsman used this opportunity to allow Rose to have a second chance at slaying a dragon. Despite her efforts to try and free Jake before their battle, Jake insists they go through with it, not wanting Rose to be blamed for his escape. The two concocted a plan where Rose would plant a potion in the battle dome for Jake to drink that would give him a temporary appearance of death. Moments before their battle, a worried Rose asks Jake if he has any last requests, resulting in the two sharing their first real-life kiss. Their battle plan proved to be successful, fooling the Huntsman into thinking Jake was dead. For her victory, Rose was able to be reinstated with the Huntsman and move back to New York City, where she would once again attend Millard Fillmore Middle School, but warned Jake that the Huntsman would be keeping a close watch on her.

"I would never have the courage to say this in the real world"
Sometime later, Jake walked Rose to school one morning. Rose was happy, and the two reminisced on the times they had spent fighting one another, and she commented how weird it was that only months prior, she found dragons to be hideous and disgusting creatures. She then became downcast, realizing that spending too much time with Jake could put them both in danger, which quickly proved to be true as the two were interrupted by #88 and #89, along with the Aztec Serpent. The Huntsboys saw Rose fighting alongside dragon Jake, causing her to run off and tell him that they couldn't see one another anymore. Not convinced of the danger, Jake set it up so that the two would be partners for a science project. Rose was hesitant, but eventually agreed. This however came at a time when Jake began his periodic molting, causing his skin to become gray and pimply. Afraid of Rose's reaction, he began avoiding her, much to her confusion and worry, as she had just been informed of the Huntsman's plan to use the Aztec Skulls to rid the world of all magical creatures. Upon her failure to retrieve one of said skulls in a cavern that night, having let Jake escape with it, #88 and #89 informed the Huntsman of their suspicions that Rose was working with a dragon. The Huntsman demands Rose bring him the pelt of the dragon, threatening her that refusal to do so would count as an admission of treason.

Rose showed up at the shop, informing Jake that the Huntsman was using the serpent to track down the skull. After Jake and the Huntsman battled and Jake was nearly defeated, Rose used her staff to knock him unconscious for a bit, and sadly told Jake that she would have to leave the city for not being able to provide proof of slaying a dragon. Jake felt incredibly guilty for his actions, admitting to her that he had been avoiding her, ashamed of his molting skin. Rose was unbothered by this, assuring him that she liked him for who he was. With Trixie and Spud's help, using their 100 Use Cream science project, Jake was able to shed off his dragon skin, which Rose used as proof to the Huntsman. The n
