The only thing that matters for which version of Jaesa you get is 1-2 options in the chapter 1 finale on Hutta. You can be dark side with light Jaesa and vice versa as long as you pick the relevant options in that mission. You can only romance DS Jaesa in the original story, LS Jaesa gets that option later on though when she returns.
I say this because I murdered Jaesa's master on Tatooine (as brutally as possible), slaughtered her parents and everyone I came into contact with on Alderaan, and she was horrified by darkness when she looked inside me — but I still got LS Jaesa at the end of the mission.

The key point is to get a Dark Jaesa, If you are Darkside or Neutral, she will say "I want power like you have!", and you need to agree to teach her the ways of the Dark Side. I am not sure if you even can get a Dark Jaesa on Lightside character.
