For a long time, I have had this urge to be self employed but personal reasons and the immigration system was a deterrent factor for me in turning this into a reality. Now that I have an EAD, I would like to reexplore this idea and wanted to know if there are any entrepreneurial organizations that I could become a member of that will help me network with like minded people. I have heard of TiE and am getting to know more about this organization. If any of you are members, feedback on how it has helped you will help a lot of people planning to join. Are there any other clubs/orgs that help people like me can bounce ideas off of and help bring together like minded people under the same roof? Thanks PS: I had plans of pursuing an MBA for the sole purpose of networking. Unfortunately, this is not something I can do at this point of time.
I did tell the first CS that it was more than 90 days and to the second I/O ,I mentioned that it was July 2nd.She asked me whether the checks were cashed and I said no. Then she asked for my full name , dob and ssn and gave me the receipts info. I/O was very patient and verified my address to make sure everything was right. The receipts start with LIN (Nebraska) Thanks tnite. Enjoy!!! I am July2 filer at NSC....based on LUD, I suspect, it has gone to TSC and no information ever since....
Till now EB2 India has much to cover till 2006 and then it will move fast. Also it seems very few People actually filed for EB2 after 2006 knowing the wait. Though we have aroun 24000 Perm for India (EB2/EB3) combined for 2007. Needless to say that USCIS data is very much required for Predicting Priority dates accurately One reason to have more Eb2 in 2006 is tiresome wait in EB3. Many people after PERM implementation (May 2005) decided to go for second file in EB2 and hence the more EB2 files in 2006.
I've also found that the dataset actually updates inside the program so that seems to be working alright however just the writing of any xml file after a openFileDialog is used doesnt seem to write.

I have been thinking about choosing between EB3 and EB2. I hold a Masters degree from US and have 2 yrs of experience. I am wondering whether to go in EB3 (which is very simple and easy to get with no scrutiny - SURE TO GET APPROVED) and wait for a very long time in the queue OR go for EB2 (which is more difficult and have to pass through all the scrutiny from I-140) and then wait, whose waiting time might be lesser than EB3's Which one is best to do ? Your suggestions please.
Gurus, I am writing on behalf of a close friend who is too worried to write it for himself. Case: He is a July 2007 filer with PD of Nov 2003 and recently had his I485 rejected. Reason - I140 denied and no appeal. However, when he checks his I140 status, it says, its still pending. He had received an RFE on I140 in October 2007 about Employment status and he had submitted all the required evidence. He also is in the same company that filed his labor. The only change he ever made is moving to a new place in the same city. Does anyone have a similar experience? What needs to be done apart from consulting a good immigration attorney? Your advice will be much appreciated.

Hey All, I am on H1B on Indian passport and my current H1B that is stamped on passport will expire on March 18, 2010. Recently, I got my H1b visa extension until 2012. I'm currently working for my end client "X" from last 2 years and H1b holder is company "Y". I am planning to go to India first two weeks of February and return on 17th Feb from EWR and returning back to EWR. I do hav an employment verification letter obtained from my manager at end client "X". I am planning to do my visa stamping while in Mumbai. I have 4 questions : 1) Looking at the current scenario, where most of H1B stamping at Mumbai consulates are going through administrative process; do you recommend me to go to Mumbai for new visa stamping ? 2) If I simply return on my current visa, will the officer at POE ask me - why I did not get new H1 stamped on passport when I have 30 days for current to expire ? Any advice ???????? 3) I have confirmed tickets for me, wife and kid to arrive at Newark. Do you guys think it is wise to change the aiport to some other airport ? 4) Do you think dropping the plans going to India is more feasible than dealing through points 1-3 above. I need your advise as soon as you can. Please share with me your viewpoints in the best possible way. One more possibility you should consider is that though you have an H1 extension and assuming you get your visa stamped till 2012, if you re-enter US before your extension is valid, you might only get the new I-94 till your current H1 validity of Mar'2010. I have seen such instances before with the reason being the IO at POE cannot give an extension based on future validity.

Currently on H1B 8th year extension which will expire on 25th June, 2009. Labor PD: 9th August, 2004 Labor cleared: 11th September, 2007. I-140 (approval pending) filed on 4th October, 2007. Received at USCIS on 5th October, 2007. Can�t file for I-485 since the EB3 date for India is unavailable. There is a high chance that I might be laid off at my current employer in the next 2-3 weeks. Can I transfer my H-1 upto June 25th, 2009 (or later) as well as start a new PERM case in EB2 category? In case of the above H-1 transfer, will the new H-1 be valid for 1 year from the filing or will it be upto 25th June, 2009? What are my other options not to go out of status or leave the country?
It is currently taking a long time to adjudicate MTR's ( for some more than a year or so ) . I would say file a MTR and also file a new perm labor . I suggest going with EB3 rather than EB2 since rules for EB2 are now more stricter than before along with more scrutiny and RFE's. But its your own choice. I think the new labor would get approved before you get a response for your MTR. If they clear the original labor well and good or else you would at least have the new one .
The 300D and D50 would be too limited in my humble opinion, such that if you plan to buy a body and keep it for a while, you'll run into their "issues" after a little while. Definitely consider 350D or D70(s), along with as good of a lens as you can afford. The 18-70 DX kit lens for Nikon cameras is good from what I've seen from it, but the Canon 18-55 kit lens is sometimes said not to be quite so good. I don't know what to recommend on the Canon side, but there are plenty of folks here who can help you out on that. :) For what it's worth, I got into photography with an old manual film camera when I was about 9. Then, a few years ago for a very short time, I used a Kodak P&S digital, before getting disgusted with it and going back to film. Finally, this spring my wallet suffered major damage with a used D1 and a couple of lenses (24-85 zoom and 90mm macro). College (this fall) will probably put an end to my photographic acquisitions for a while, but now that the Luminous Landscape did an article on video cameras, I have even more stuff to dream / drool about. Must... hide... credit card... now..! :D
