The Society for Textbook Revise, an independent body which is an offshoot from the Korea Association for Creation Research (KACCR) is the one who has led this effort. The STR has scored its first victory by removing from textbooks examples of the evolution and ancestor of the bird, the Archeopteryx. The focus is now on removing excerpts from Darwin's notorious finch research as well as on human evolution as well.
STR claims that it has the support of 4,000 families as well as individual members. Its mission is to cut out what it sees as the "atheist materialism" that reflects a hopeless worldview for students. It also seeks to counter the influence of American creationists in the country.
