Seats

It can hold twins from birth and accept two car seats or a carrycot and seat. However, the seats need to be facing forwards, and there's not enough space for a shopping bag underneath which is why you'll need a sidepack to do this.
If you like to take off-road trips and off-road, the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good option. It is a side by side model with the smallest footprint of any double buggy that is available. This makes it easier to squeeze through doors that are narrow and on public transport and allows you to climb up and down kerbs without much trouble. It also has a handbrake on the handlebar that can be adjusted for more security and safety.
Another lightweight choice is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double that can be used for twins or a baby and toddler. The seats come with multi-position recline and UPF 50+ sunshades, and the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun from your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can even be transformed into a triple using the addition of UPPAbaby's 'PiggyBack board for older and mobile kids.

The iCandy Orange is one of the most well-known double buggies that are available due to its outstanding comfort. It's a true all-terrain pushchair with soft suspension that makes light work of bumpy surfaces. It can be used in 30 seating configurations and has a built-in ride-on board for older kids who prefer to walk, and a 'cinema seating' mode which raises the back seat to improve visibility.
The phil&teds dot is a brilliant single buggy from the beginning that is able to easily be adapted to take 2 (or 3!) in various configurations. This is especially helpful for parents who have children in a car. The frame can be affixed to a wedgie that allows for the most optimal lying-flat position. Also, car seat adapters that can be used with many brands.
Suspension
The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easily your child/children and you can push it. A smooth ride is vital since babies can feel every bump in the road, especially when it's in rough terrain such as grass or dirt roads. Some models come with locking front tires to help maneuver and get over obstacles like curbs.
Some models have tyres with air filled which are ideal for all-terrain riding, however they are susceptible to punctures. Make sure you keep an extra set of tyres inside the trunk. Others have foam or gel tyres, which are specifically designed to handle bumps and can be less susceptible to punctures, however, you may find them to be a bit stiff and uncomfortable for your child's back when you choose to jog.

Folding
A three-wheel double buggy could be folded in a neat manner to store it.
