Item Upgrading: What's No One Is Talking About

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also improve its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Typically, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player has to select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the component or material needed to complete the upgrade.
There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.
This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's class. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item is not able to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have a lower chance of success.
To determine the height of a structure engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement against a known reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. Rerolling
