World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it's upgraded.

Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.
In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Leveling

When a player improves an item, the base item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you do not require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial however it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits water. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade.
