Item Upgrading: It's Not As Expensive As You Think

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they are upgraded.
In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it, and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several important ways. This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. Sets

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the screen for their character.
