Upgrades to items allow players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Upgrade components

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph by another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.
Leveling
