Kia Tigers manager Lee Bum-ho expressed satisfaction with the transformation of second-year left-hander Yoon Young-chul (20). Yoon pitched in the 2024 Baseball World Series exhibition game against KT Wiz on Saturday and threw 78 pitches in four innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits, two walks and four strikeouts. While the runs were a bit high, his pitching performance earned him a passing grade.

After a walk and an infield error in the top of the first, Mel Rojas Jr. hit a three-run homer to lead off the inning. In the third inning, a leadoff walk and an error put runners on second and third with nobody out, and a sacrifice fly to right field scored Rojas for the fourth run. The runs were all unfortunate errors.

He tested five pitches: fastball, cutter, slider, changeup, and curve. His fastball topped out at 142 mph and averaged 139 mph. His slider was sharp, with a cutter that went toward the right-hander's body. His velocity was definitely up from last year's average of 137.1 mph. His changeup also worked well.

"I had a lot of velocity yesterday," Lee said ahead of the Gwangju exhibition game against KT on Sunday. It was three to four kilometers more than last year. I feel good after throwing it. 스포츠토토 I was going to throw 70 pitches, 80 if the weather was good. I didn't lose much strength until then. I did what I prepared for. I thought about how to throw faster than last year, and I think I worked out a lot," he praised.

He also said that his changeup has become sharper along with his speed. "My speed and arm swing are faster. More swings than fouls. I've been experimenting with my pitches, throwing cutters to the body and curveballs. I think the hitters felt that there was a little bit of offspeed on the ball (unlike last year). I think he was satisfied with his pitching."

Yoon Young-chul has made a number of changes since becoming a full-time pitcher last year. He went to a drive-in center in Seattle with Jung Hae-young and Hwang Dong-ha to find the best pitching form, and he also added a fastball (cutter). He also changed his arm swing to be simpler and faster. His velocity naturally increased in spring training as he adapted to the new mechanics. He is aiming for his first 10 wins and regulation innings this year.
