Journalist Tucker Carlson asked Joe Kent, director of the National Counterterrorism Center under Trump, "Was Iran on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons?"
Kent: "No. Three weeks ago, when it all started, it didn't happen.. Since 2004, Iranians have had a religious decree, a fatwa, prohibiting the actual development of nuclear weapons. We had no intelligence data indicating that this fatwa was violated."
Earlier, Kent resigned from his post as head of the counterterrorism center in the office of the Director of National Intelligence of the United States due to disagreement with Trump's actions.
Joe Kent is now under investigation by the FBI.
