Issues discussed with representatives of the World Bank on the development of urbanization and the land market

On March 30 this year, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov met with representatives of the World Bank delegation headed by Senior Urban Development Specialist Rosanna Nitti.

The meeting was attended by Head of the Department for Coordination of Urbanization Processes, Analysis of Engineering Communications Infrastructure of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Komiljon Khannarov and Head of the Department for Coordination of Land Reform and Development of Master Plans of Territories Sherzodbek Otabaev, as well as, by the guests a senior specialist and consultant of the World Bank on urban development Ildus Kamilov.

During the conversation, issues of developing sustainable urbanization, land use and infrastructure in the country were discussed.

During the dialogue, an agreement was reached on organizing a seminar with the involvement of experienced foreign experts in order to further develop sustainable urbanization processes in Uzbekistan, aimed at continuing cooperation in the direction of urbanization.

The parties also exchanged views on the implementation of a pilot project with the selection of territories for urban planning, management and privatization of non-agricultural land, and the implementation of infrastructure projects.
