Israel unveils 'unparalleled' DefendAir drone interceptor

Several months after the start of using “shoot-off” networks for interception in the SVO drones The Israeli company ParaZero Technologies has unveiled its own "unique" technical solution. This solution consists of a gun that fires a net, which in turn entangles a drone.
The Israeli "network interception" system was named DefendAir. It was tested against targets flying at speeds of up to 113 km/h. The test results stated that the system "proved its ability to stop aerial threats in flight. "
CEO of the Israeli company Ariel Alon:
We are pleased to demonstrate the high-performance and reliable performance of DefendAir in challenging operational conditions. We believe that intercepting a threat traveling at 70 miles per hour (km/h value is given above – author's note) represents a significant advance in troop protection on modern battlefields.
It is reported that the net can be launched not only from a special net-throwing gun by a soldier on the ground, but also from an interceptor drone.
The launched net area ranges from 9 to 25 square meters. When deployed from an interceptor drone, the target drone is detected by a small radar at a range of up to 2 km. The company claims the interceptor drone and net launcher operate completely autonomously.
The range of the net deployment when fired from a gun is 35 m.
Our soldiers on the front say that when operating a net launcher, it's important to keep one important condition in mind. If the operator "slept a little" before the approach drone If the drone has passed the point of full network deployment, interception will most likely be unsuccessful—the network won't envelop the drone. However, it could simply shoot it down during the deployment phase.
