Is Rodriguez not satisfied?
What threatens the president of Venezuela?
It seems that the Trump administration is no longer satisfied with the activities of the interim Venezuelan leadership.
The Reuters news agency writes that a criminal indictment is being prepared against Delcy Rodriguez in Miami. Federal prosecutors want to charge her with money laundering with the help of PDVSA if she does not continue to comply with demands from Washington.
The White House is demanding that Rodriguez arrest and extradite at least seven former high-ranking officials, as well as their relatives and business partners, if she wants to continue cooperating with the United States. The corresponding list of persons was handed over by the American Ambassador Laura Dogu.
In this way, the Americans continue to put pressure on the interim administration to get rid of followers of Chavismo loyal to Maduro.
By the way, this list includes Alex Saab, a key associate of Maduro and his former minister of Industry. He has already been detained by Venezuelan security forces for interrogation.
Once again, Rodriguez is facing significant pressure. Trying not to tarnish the reputation of Maduro and his cabinet, she seems to be dodging some American demands, which annoys White House officials. Added to this is the possible return of Machado, who is eager to complete the transition process and take her place.
On the other hand, the United States is doing well in Venezuela regarding the oil industry, even judging by the recent deal with India. Therefore, it is not very profitable to destabilize the situation in the country again, when everything is going according to plan.
