If you’re browsing through your partner’s internet history and stumble across a site called Fakku, you may want to close the tab. Fakku is an anime porn (or hentai) site that offers uncensored English translations for Japanese adult comics and anime. The site is well over 10 years old, and it’s one of the best-known hentai websites in the West. It’s one of the only sites on the internet where English-speaking hentai fans can access officially licensed manga and anime.
The following article features sexually explicit content.
Traditionally, the English anime and manga community has relied on unofficial fan translations for anime and manga. Translators would take new works, translate them into English, and then publish them online. Of course, this is technically piracy, and it’s historically caused tension between Japanese publishers and their American fans.
For years, Fakku relied on this model too—not to promote piracy, but to foster an adult manga community in the West. Eventually, Fakku shook up the Western hentai landscape by moving away from piracy and officially partnering with Japanese creators. But there’s a catch: You have to pay for Fakku to access its enormous manga library.
To learn everything about making a Fakku account and a Fakku Unlimited subscription, read on.
Fakku came online in December 2006 thanks to its owner, Jacob Grady . The site would seek out adult comics from Japan and rely on fan translations to “create a community” for hentai, as “back then, there was no one bringing over hentai legally,” Grady told Kotaku in 2017. Grady funded the site with student loans.
“Back then, it was a mess of hentai websites. They were riddled with ads and spyware,” Grady explained to Kotaku. “I dreamed up what the website I’d want to use as a consumer would look like. I was conscious of making it not feel like a gross website. I wanted to make a website anyone could feel comfortable using.”
Fakku’s content was technically piracy during its early years. The site only switched to officially licensed hentai after a Japanese publisher contacted Fakku and asked for its adult content to be removed. Grady took the opportunity to negotiate a publishing deal and officially bring translated Japanese hentai to English readers.
Two years later, in 2016, Fakku pulled all unlicensed hentai content and switched to a subscription model. While controversial at the time, Grady defended the move as an attempt to bring Japanese hentai works to the English-speaking world “legally” and “in collaboration with the artists that created it instead of via pirated scans.” Grady later defended the decision as an attempt to circumvent reliance on third-party advertisements.
“I think all the content we release is worth the price of the subscription or the book. If we did have a free tier, we’d be reliant on advertisers,” Grady told Kotaku. “I know Crunchyroll deals with this a lot, too. You sort of have to accommodate the advertisers as well as the users. I don’t like the idea of being beholden to an ad company. A lot of people see it as us turning our backs on the community, but even a larger part of the community has embraced it.”
Today, Fakku offers officially licensed hentai manga, anime, books, and adult video games. The site also has a growing merchandise section. For a time, it was caught in a “hentai civil war” with popular anime porn site Hentai Haven , but the two later squashed the beef .
Before there was Facebook Dating , there was Fakku’s own satirical foray into online matchmaking. Fakku introduced Fakku Dating as an April Fools’ joke in 2017, inviting users to “find love among your fellow perverts” by visiting “fakku.dating.” The service let manga fans pick from a range of hentai interests and anime avatars, after which the site would match users together and throw them into an anonymous chat. Think Omegle —but for people who like hentai manga.
Fakku pulled Fakku Dating after April Fools’ but resurrected the site for Valentine’s Day in 2018. The service was later shut down by April 2019, seemingly for good. “While we do appreciate the love it was shown, it is time to retire it,” Fakku tweeted on April 9. Luckily, Twitter is still filled with viral photos from the service, including Fakku’s official Twitter Moments commemorating the April Fool’s Day gag from 2017.

Fakku has an enormous assortment of hentai manga, a growing collection of licensed hentai anime, and a sizeable anime porn game store. Fakku Unlimited costs $12.95 per month, and purchasing a subscription gives users full access to its hentai manga and anime, along with a discount in its adult games store.
That said, Fakku’s true appeal comes from its adult manga. Fakku Unlimited features an endless collection of high-resolution English translations perfect for both desktop and mobile browsing. The site also hosts a wide range of interests too, from shimapan panties to femdoms . However, Fakku’s hentai catalog is still growing, and its adult games discount may not justify the monthly subscription price for users that aren’t into manga.
In short, if you’re a hentai manga fan, definitely pick up a subscription. Alternatively, if you like the idea of what Fakku represents—bringing officially licensed hentai over to the U.S. and the rest of the English-speaking world—then subscribe. But if you’re more interested in Fakku for its anime collection or for adult games, you might want to wait. It’s clear Fakku’s catalog is growing, but the site is ultimately best for manga fans.
Fakku does offer a free hentai section , but it’s relatively small. Most material available is limited to western porn comics. It’s sizeable enough to give fans a taste, but it’s by no means an enormous catalog.
However, Fakku lets interested users sample the site with a free trial for Fakku Unlimited. So if you want to see if a subscription is right for you, give it a shot.
Yes! In early August 2019, Fakku revealed True Love ’95 , a special 25th-anniversary edition of the 1995 adult dating sim. Also known as True Love Jun’ai Monogatari , Japanese developer Software House Parsley released True Love in Japan for the NEC PC-98 to mixed reviews in its home country. However, when Otaku Publishing and JAST USA brought the game’s PC and MS-DOS port to the U.S. in 1999, it gained a cult following. At the time, very few visual novels reached the West, let alone adult dating sims. Over two decades later, it’s a testament to the genre’s humble, lewd roots.
True Love ’95 will seemingly feature uncensored adult scenes, given that Fakku’s official post on the game shows several nude scenes without mosaics. It’s unclear when True Love ’95 will launch, although a promotional tweet suggests the game will be “available soon” on Fakku. Grady also asked fans if Fakku “should publish more games like this,” implying more retro rereleases may be in the works.

As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps over the globe, people have been doing the best they can to help one another with the mental struggle of forced social isolation. The adult industry has taken a large portion of this burden unto itself. Starting this week, hentai publisher FAKKU has joined the effort by providing free access to their large collection of manga, which is usually accessible solely through the FAKKU Unlimited subscription service.
The news was first broken on Twitter yesterday, when FAKKU announced the promotion. The limited-time free access includes over 150,000 pages of uncensored hentai available in the English language. The promotion will last for two weeks, ending on the 13th of April.
As the world continues to practice social distancing to fight the spread of COVID-19, we must come together and stay inside 🙏
Starting RIGHT NOW, all subscription hentai is free for the next two weeks on FAKKU.
The promotion features all FAKKU Unlimited entries within the Comics category, including hentai chapters, magazines, and all-ages content. You can access it here . While reading the chapters, you may be asked to purchase the subscription; however, this is optional, and the prompt can be closed until you make up your mind. The full benefits of the FAKKU Unlimited subscription include access to subbed and dubbed hentai in 1080p, as well as 10% off figurines and games available in the FAKKU store.
This news follows the recent promotion from JAST USA, who acted in a similar fashion, providing free copies of the first two games of Lighting Warrior Raidy to help people manage their forced stay at home.

I've read up a bit on the matter, and you are indeed correct. It is interesting, that ILLUSION made this distinction between using derivative works for "commercial" and "non-commercial" purposes....
Fakku and Illusion have straight up said that using anything from STUDIO in a For Profit manner is 100% not allowed
While the legality of making a product based on screenshots and videos captured from a third-party software such as this is questionable (depends on the license of said third-party software, which...
Yeah, I don't think we should be supporting projects THAT ARE STEALING ASSETS Lewd Gamer. This person doesn't own anything from ILLUSION. Or are we now going to report on pretty much anything that...
I'm sorry it has come to this, but... *sigh* *extends hand* your pervert card, please. Now. It's "alraune"...

Are you 18 years or older and willing to view adult content?
It appears you're using Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Edge.
Unfortunately, these browsers don't support some CSS properties that are important to the layout of this site.
You can continue anyway but some elements may appear broken.
We recommend you use one of the following browsers. They're all free (and, in our opinion, better).
