Irish airline Ryanair closes six flights from Riga

In the summer season of 2026, Ryanair will not operate flights from Riga to Vienna, Paris, Gdansk, Barcelona, Girona and Gothenburg.

The airline claims that Latvia's high and uncompetitive aviation taxes, as well as rising fees, are hindering economic growth, the development of transport infrastructure and tourism, forcing Ryanair to redirect its capacity to faster-growing markets.
