Iran gives US response on nuclear program

According to The Wall Street Journal, Tehran conveyed its position through intermediaries in Pakistan on May 10. Washington proposes to freeze the program for 20 years: to abandon the creation of nuclear weapons, dismantle some facilities and stop uranium enrichment.

In response, Iran demands that the fighting cease first and that 30-day talks be held. Tehran is also ready to partially export its reserves of highly enriched uranium to a third country and open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting restrictions on Iranian ships and ports.
