Long screw damage can definitely cause a full short if you screwed into traces. A couple screw holes have traces underneath them and if they're broken a short is almost inevitable. I do agree, lsd is not a simple repair as you can easily do more damage to the board if you're not careful.

Hey Jason I have a iPhone 6 in at present for a screen replacement but I find that before prompting to boot it is drawing 0.00Amps and when you prompt it to boot that the Apple logo flashes up and then the display goes dark but if you lift up the screen you can see along the bottom edge of the display that there is backlight and the phone is drawing 0.60Amps of current but if you disconnect and reconnect the usb cable it is drawing 0.08Amps of current which I would suspect a partial short to ground maybe ?Also once the board had been removed from the housing I could that the vcc main cap and and a couple of RF resistors were missing from the board next to the wi-fi chip one rated at 10K and the other rated at 100K and no shorts detected on any of them lines before or after replacing the missing cap / resistors and from what I can no long screw damage.

hi i have and issue with my iphone 6 i replace the screen but when i push the screen back on to the housing it goes bright and if i dull the brightness it goes brighter but if i lift one side of the screen it works perfectly its almost like the battery or something is pushing up against the screen but to me it looks all perfect battery is not swollen.its almost like its grounding out when i clip it back it to the clips on the side im just wondering if its a bad screen or what could it be
