Introducing a new way to consume Newspapers and Magazines on Telegram

cut through the clutter and get only what you want, delivered straight to your inbox

Think about the days you used to scroll through endless files posted in BookCrushPress (now defunct) and check to see if your favorite newspaper/magazines has been posted. Same goes with any other channel or group you may have subscribed for this purpose, where the files are just dumped every morning and then it's a hassle to scour them to find the file you need.

The Channel 📰

From there an innovative idea was born to make it more seamless and user-friendly, that idea is now in front of you as BookCrushNewsstand where you have a comprehensive index of newspapers and magazines. Clicking on any of them takes you to the respective banner, under which you have files posted under comments section.

The Bot 🤖

Coming to the second part, we now have a bot BookCrushNewsstandBot which automatically posts newspapers/magazines link in respective banners. that's not even the best part. You can subscribe to any of the titles and get the files right in your Telegram PM (inbox).

What you need to do?

1. Start the bot first, Either click on the start the bot button next to the Subscribe Now button in the channel comments, or just go to BookCrushNewsstandBot and send /start. Without doing this, the bot won't be able to PM you.

2. Then in the @BookCrushNewsstand channel, from the index, navigate to any of the newspaper/magazine you want to subscribe and click on Comments section.

3. Find the newspaper/magazine posted by the bot and Click on Subscribe Now button.

4. To view your subscriptions, Go back to @BookCrushNewsstandBot and send /subscriptions (comprehensive version) or /shortsubs (compact version). You can also unsubscribe any of the titles there.

1. New /subscribe command in Bot PM to subscribe to any of the titles right in your PM. No need to rely on Subscribe Now button in the channel, of course that still works too.

2. Subscriptions now shows number of subscribers for that title that you've subscribed to (and also in the channel). Also this command works faster now. you can also use /shortsubs for a compact list.

3. Subscribe command shows "Coming Soon" newspapers/magazines towards the end of the list. So yes, we do listen.

4. Probably the biggest among all - Groups support. Add the bot to any of your groups and use the above commands to subscribe and get regular updates. In your group just type /subscribe to get started.

Note: All of the above commands are supposed to be used either in your PM with the bot or in your group.

• New /unsub command to unsubscribe from an individual title. It works similar to /sub command.

For example - /unsub Houston Chronicle

• New /lastupdated command to see when your favourite titles were uploaded last. Note: shows N/A for titles uploaded before today. it'll get updated as and when the titles are uploaded from now on.

• On popular demand, we are increasing the number of magazines that we carry, you'll find a 🆕 tag on them on our Magazine index (https://t.me/BookCrushNewsstand/299).

Note: Many of you haven't started the bot in pm, hence you are not able to receive any newspaper/magazine from the bot. Start the bot by texting it BookCrushNewsstandBot. Ignore if already done.

You can also use /lastupdated command in the BookCrushNewsstandBot to see last updated date of your favourite title.

Check the Newspaper Index and Magazine Index for viewing specific titles. Or Click on comments to view recently uploaded newspapers and magazines.
