Interview with Vladimir Maslyakov, an active member of DeFi SG

MOVETON

Vladimir Maslyakov is the CTO of thekey.space. It is the number one operator in the creation of flexible workspaces (offices) in Russia. He will tell a little about himself, his competencies, what does he do in DeFi SG and some plans for the future.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. What did you do before Free TON? What are your competencies, skills and education?

I completed my postgraduate studies in WMC and at the same time worked as a technical director at a large brokerage company exante.eu, which I founded with my friends. After leaving, I founded thekey.space, where I am the CTO.

What does your company do?

Our company is a flexible workspace operator. We write software and automate coworking spaces.

I have three basic technical skills:

  1. And I’ve been a CTO for most of my life.
  2. IT architect (last 12-15 years).
  3. Product developer, I do product planning, sales strategy, marketing.

In what languages do you write programs?

In the beginning I wrote in C ++, but when I was in graduate school I already wrote in Java. I wrote my candidate work in Scala. Now I write in Clojure and Python in my free time, when it comes to Machine Learning.

How did you get in Free TON?

I was invited by Alexander Filatov, whom was in fact acquainted. I was attracted by the ideology of the project and TON Labs which initiated its launch. So I found myself in DeFi SG, to use my expertise.

Have you already participated in any competitions in DeFi SG or other SG?

Yes, I participated in the DEX competition. And I won it. But winning this competition is not the main thing. As the famous proverb says – “participation is more important than winning”. On the AMA session, we decided that all the ideas which were proposed will be used in one project or another in order to develop the next contest proposal for the implementation of these ideas into a working DEX.

Together with Alexander Wat, we made a proposal for stablecoins. We made a proposal for DEX implementation. This is very important for the popularization of the network, since payment mechanisms and mechanisms for exchanging tokens for other tokens made within the network. Thus, these are some fundamental mechanisms in order to popularize the network. Therefore, here is another reason why I wanted to participate in this SG.

What do you like most about your team SG?

DeFi is my favorite of all the SGs. It is very structured, communication in it is always on business and in a polite manner. Everyone is ready to support each other and all opinions are important. And all this is available both at the stage of writing proposals and on AMA sessions.

What is in your opinion not enough to work more effectively in the Free TON?

It is clear that everything will change a lot when Governance 2.0 starts to. There are not enough current mechanics for adding new people, excluding old ones, and rewarding the most active ones. And our digital mini-state needs such mechanics, otherwise it, like any state which will stop working effectively in the future.

Partially these problems will be solved in Governance 2.0 and by finalizing the forum and some kind of policy of exclusions and adding people to chats in Telegram. Maybe someone will write some interesting bot when voting.

Many tasks are hampered by the desire to do it decentralized and through the blockchain, without involving centralized tools, which, unfortunately is Telegram. But I hope DGO and Governance 2.0 will come up with some solutions soon. And I try to participate in this, too.

What would you like to do or implement in Free TON most of all?

Now, the most important and interesting thing is to do DEX. On top of all this, we decided that making a clone of Uniswap and other Ethereum’  s technologies would be short-sighted and would not use full advantage of the TON network. We are going to make a DEX that would claim to be the main place in the market, with interesting mechanics of staking, building, exchange.

And after that, I think that it would be logical, perhaps a more ambitious project – the creation of a secure messenger, Decentralized Social Media. This is the most problematic area, in our opinion. They are mainly owned by corporations and are the target of attacks from outside players, as well as spheres of state influence. Therefore, I would like to create a decentralized solution that will solve this problem. Jack Dorsey writes a lot about this and provides grants for this. But it is clear that this requires some kind of technology. Such technology could be Free TON.

Who is classy specialist for you in any area? Whom would you like to work with?

Mitja is a wonderful CTO. Alexander is a great CEO who helps drive the adoption of the entire chain as a whole. Pavel deals with all issues of partnerships with Governance. It is great that everyone has some area in which they are interested and where they realize themselves, using all their best qualities. It is interesting to watch this and such a decentralized history is interesting to move. Although it is harder to work in such an organization than in a corporation, where there is hierarchy and order. A decentralized organization is more chaotic.

Vladimir, thank you very much for telling us about yourself and revealing your thoughts and some plans for the future.
