Interview with Druscap(DPS)

Interview with Druscap(DPS)

Aizek

β€” Hello. Thank you for agreeing to this short interview. Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been playing Lineage 2?
β€” Hello Aizek, hello dear readers!

This is the clan leader of "ECLIPSE", my name is Andrey, main nicknames: Demo (old nickname from classic/RUOF), DPS (game main nickname), Druscap (streamer, public).

I live in Perm, I will be married soon πŸ˜πŸ‘

I first got acquainted with Lineage 2 when I was 7 years old (now 27), when my uncle sat me down at the computer and gave me a task - to get to level 20 on SE, as far as I remember the server was called "Raid", then on the same server I pumped FS to level 52, oh, nostalgia...

After a long break, I played for some time on the classic RUOF 2014-2018 before the opening of the Essence project, where my company and I went to play on the Black server. After losing for a year, at the opening of the Scarlet server, I organized my first clan. From that moment, my CL story began...

The interview is short, so for more detailed information, come to my stream, but in general, I have been developing my clan and brand "ECLIPSE" for 6 years now.

β€” What chronicles did you start your journey with? And what was your first server? What are your favorite chronicles and why?
β€” As for my favorite chronicles, it's definitely Essence, at least because you don't have to drag a lot of windows around and you only deal with the main character (and your pack of cyber-athletes 😁).

β€” Why did you decide to become a clan leader?
β€” A combination of skills and ambitions led to this role.

I have always been sociable and wanted to connect with people my profession. Also, I have a pretty good strategic thinking, which helps to lead a raid and show a good win rate on bosses with proper preparation. One of my areas is the market, as well as constant maintenance of tables (good old EXEL tables DKP with RUOF, how much time was spent on them). Also, my favorite activity is organizing people, be it daily activities or helping to form a character of a specific player.

β€” Is it difficult to be a clan leader?
β€” It's definitely difficult.

CL's day is scheduled from early morning (or night) until late evening.

My prime time varies from 12 to 16 hours.

There are practically no days off at all. Only between projects.

Definitely, you need to cope with multitasking, starting from side advertising (discords, telegram, streams), ending with recruiting, personal communication with each member, working with the DKP system and leading many thousands of fights for bosses or spots.

β€” What difficulties do you face? And how do you overcome these difficulties?
β€” Over a 6-year career, there is occasional burnout (as in any job), which can be dealt with through physical activity and fresh air (we line workers rarely go outside).

People's lack of clarity and unclear reasons.

Today a player is in a clan and everything is fine with him, and tomorrow he leaves without explanation, although I have given him due attention. In such situations, I try to prolong communication with the person as much as possible, to fully understand his problem, and try to solve it. Many banal situations are closed by primitive psychology and communication.

Any negative moments on the project or in the clan that are completely beyond my control (member/pack quit the game because of negative situations from the server). In this case, the main thing is to quickly switch to a positive mood and not get hung up on the situation.

β€” What qualities do you think a player should have to join your clan?
β€” Stable psyche, positive thinking (it is very difficult to work with people with victim syndrome or emo-mod);

Ambition and active participation in the life of the clan (instant regroups, cooperativeness, sociality);

A person's interest in the project and the game as a whole;

Adequacy (even though I can be hot-tempered myself, I try to be restrained in many moments, and I also guide my members along this path);

The most important thing is the desire to really play, to develop, and not to go with the flow of circumstances.

β€” Your ECLIPSE clan is currently not equipped with main packs, but at the same time shows stable play with the resource that you have. Do you think there is a possibility that in the near future there will be more MAIN packs in the clan and what can you offer to the guys who want to find "That one clan" with whom they will play from project to project?
β€” I am working hard on the issue of the appearance of more main packs. Lately, this is the most important issue on the clan's agenda. I try to offer active packs with ambitions for core roles all possible options for their development, starting from motivation in the form of a certain consul loot, ending with approval for withdrawal from the game (under the important condition that the pack will have characters ABOVE AVERAGE in equipment and level (GS)). I pay special attention to helping with spot defense, sacrificing my pack's time so that our packs can get to relevant spots. I also try to visit the guys on the channel every day, find out how things are going, what unresolved issues there are, what worries them and at what stage my help is needed directly. I am ready to spend all my time on people who are ready to actively play and root for the clan.

β€” You have shown yourself as a good RL, who can win the installation on a good resource "people". You are also involved in the clan economy, recruiting and your own pack. In my opinion, there are too many responsibilities for one person... Maybe you should delegate some of the responsibility and unload yourself?
β€” Delegation is an important aspect of any project. I understand this, but with my interest in everything and the slogan "if you want to do something well - do it yourself", it is difficult to find specific people to whom I would entrust some of the tasks. This is not good, but I would gladly delegate tasks related to the clan economy (maintaining the DKP system, the market, maintaining the clan balance), as well as recruiting - it would also be nice to find an interested person who, like me, would actively write to the players of the project where we play. As for RL - this is my favorite part of the work, which I would delegate only for a few days a month in order to spend time with my family and reboot a little.

β€” TOP 3 servers that you managed to play on? And which of the three servers was the most interesting and why?
β€” TOP-1 - Innadril: product quality, concept, assembly, administration, constant rivalry against RMT;

TOP-2 - RUOF servers (Black/Scarlet/Ginger) - the times of the first Essence chronicles, my formation as a clan leader;

TOP-3 - SOG (a tube server of Consul, where I played a whole year on 1-2 openings, its own atmosphere);

β€” Who was the most interesting opponent you met on the battlefield?
β€” The most difficult and most interesting opponent for me is still the RMT side. For us, a relatively young clan in comparison with RMT and their media presence, it is quite exciting to compete with the mastodon of this sphere, the game against RMT heats up interest in Lineage 2, victories in battles against this side are very significant for us.

β€” Who do you think is TOP CL now and who should we look up to?
β€” I look up to myself and try to become better every day, to develop my leadership, psychological, and strategist skills. I wouldn't like to single out anyone in particular, but I will say that top CLs from the old school are highly praised, but some of them are no longer so great and players' opinions about top clans are formed solely out of nostalgia. My advice is to try playing in clans and communities that are new to you. Make way for the young!

β€” What do you dislike most about the current Lineage 2?
β€” The fact that our community of lineagers is shrinking for natural reasons, there is little fresh blood, this game is not attractive for zoomers. Otherwise, now free server provide all the opportunities to actively and interestingly spend time on the server, even with a minimum donation.

β€” Moving from general questions to more personal ones. Whip or Gingerbread?
β€” Definitely a compromise. Both the Whip and Gingerbread. You can't be good to everyone, you need to solve any issues wisely and with a cool head.

β€” TOP 5 favorite games, not counting Lineage 2?
β€”
- Dota-2;

- World of Tanks;

- Diablo 2 (POE);

- Heroes 3 (Cossacks);

- CS;

β€” TOP 5 favorite movies?
β€”
- Lord of the Rings;

- Our action films (brother, cargo-200, brigade, blind man's buff and others);

- Drama (green book, duel of brothers, perfumer);

- TV series (queen's move, breaking bad, chernobyl, game of thrones);

β€” What do you like to do in your free time away from your PC? What are your hobbies?

β€”
- Rollerblading (my main summer hobby);

- Bicycle;

- Ski resorts;

- Rafting;

β€” Do you have a dream? If so, what is it?
β€” Achieving supremacy among many clans in Lineage 2. Achieving the maximum in this game.

β€” And the last and very important question. What would you say if you were in front of the team of the game publisher NCSFT?
β€” Update the game core to the latest version so that we can play for another 10 years with ultra FPS.
