The setting of the series primarily takes place in a historic red-light district of New Orleans called Storyville. It was open from 1897-1917. Most buildings from that time were leveled and demolished during the Great Depression and only a few structures managed to survive. As a result of this, most of the set presented in certain scenes had to be built from scratch. Storyville was also known as the birthplace of New Orleans jazz, and is associated with famed musicians Louis Armstrong , Ferdinand 'Jelly Roll' Morton , and Buddy Bolden
The opening credit sequence is an emerging composite image consisting of the skyline of Dubai and New Orleans. Dubai is on the bottom of the frame, with New Orleans on the top, which brought together resembles a set of "Vampire fangs".
This series is not about the Vampire Series of novels by Anne Rice. I have only watched the first episode. I like it so far. But fans have been misled. The low ratings here are not valid. I do have some issues with the changes. But it is obvious this series is not for Anne Rice fans. Accept that and move on. I like Sam Reid as Lestat. This series has a political agenda. But it is visually stunning. I am disappointed with the show runners point of view. But that does not take away from this being a good series. My biggest disappointment is it was not made clear that this series would be a reimagining of Rice's material.
" Interview with the Vampire ," " Shantaram ," and " The Midnight Club " are three of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month. Check out our October calendar for more!

CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) struggles to come to terms with the fact that she will never grow old.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Anne Rice's best-selling romantic horror tale about the origins of a centuries-old vampire inspired this popular, atmospheric chiller. One of director Neil Jordan's major Hollywood productions, the film stays close to its source material, retaining the frame of a young reporter (Christian Slater) interviewing a man who claims to be a 200-year-old vampire. The man, Louis (Brad Pitt), shares his story, beginning in 18th-century New Orleans with his first encounters with the charismatic and decadent vampire Lestat (Tom Cruise). Lestat converts Louis to blood-sucking and immortality, but Louis fails to adopt Lestat's cavalier attitude, instead tormenting himself with guilt over his new nature. The two vampires remain deeply, if reluctantly, connected over the years, while becoming intimately involved with others of their kind, including Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), a mature immortal in a young child's body. Fans of the novel raised numerous objections, particularly after Rice initially spoke out against the casting of Cruise as Lestat; further casting difficulties followed the death of River Phoenix, whose role as the interviewer was assumed by Christian Slater. Rice later recanted her objections, and the combination of thrills and gothic romance proved popular with audiences.
