The Part-Time Intern is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, administration, data entry and interfacing with participants for the FLEX Program. As an American Councils Uzbekistan team member, the Part-Time Intern will also be expected to support daily programming. This position reports to a Program Assistant and the intern will work closely with the program staff members.

Job Responsibilities

The Part-Time Intern will work closely with the American Councils Uzbekistan office, primarily within the FLEX program. The Intern will work part-time (20hours per week) for 3 months. Scheduling an extension of the internship will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Day-to-day position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Support recruitment activities to ensure the timely and proper conduct of the competition; 

·        Supporting administrative and task-based functions related to a variety of program needs (e.g., drafting documents, communicate with applicants to obtain required documents, office organization);

·        Respond to phone calls, and messages from applicants, parents, and other parties within a given framework; 

·        Provide logistics and operational support for the organization of FLEX recruitment programming as required;  

·        Designing, creating, and editing program materials for print, digital, and social media use;

·        Contributing to other American Councils programs and performing additional tasks as assigned by FLEX staff.

·        Maintain confidentiality of program procedures and of FLEX participants, as stipulated by American Councils policy and all applicable privacy laws.

Qualifications

·        Currently enrolled university students (3rd – 4th-year bachelor students, graduate students)

·        Successful participation in a USG-funded program strongly preferred 

·        Must have native-level proficiency in Uzbek and/or Russian, and be fluent in English

·        Outstanding time management, organization and planning skills

·        Proactive, independent, and flexible in task management and program implementation

·        Demonstrated excellence in communication and multicultural interpersonal skills

·        Familiarity with Microsoft Office software suite and common social media platforms

·        Experience using Canva, CapCut, and shooting/editing videos is a big plus

·        Attention to detail in high-volume, repetitive work while adhering to best practices

THIS IS AN UNPAID TEMPORARY PART-TIME POSITION. Upon successfully completing the internship, Interns will receive a certificate and quality work references from American Councils.
