Intern - Data Analyst
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Mosaic Conseil
Mosaic Conseil operates as a small, specialized workshop where we rebuild business artifacts from the ground up. We do not produce slide decks or maintain standing retainers. Instead, we take existing business models, pricing grids, and diligence files, strip them down to their basic parts, and reconstruct them based on cold evidence. Our focus remains on four specific sectors: financial services, industrial networks, growing software companies, and healthcare systems. In this specific engagement, our partner manages logistics and digital operations, and we are tasked with auditing the underlying data structures that support their global transport networks.
About Mosaic Conseil
We are a boutique consultancy that values depth over breadth. At our core, we believe that the best work happens when you remove the noise of corporate offices and endless meetings. We work entirely remotely, allowing our team to focus on the work itself rather than the theater surrounding it. Our size is a deliberate choice. By keeping the workshop small, we ensure that every person involved in a project is intimately familiar with the raw data. There are no layers of management here (just analysts, builders, and challengers working in a flat structure to solve specific problems). When we finish a project, we return a redrawn artifact supported by a written argument that must stand up to intense scrutiny.
What you would do
As an Intern Data Analyst, you will enter the workflow as a supporting builder. Your primary focus will be on the logistics and digital project, where you will assist in cleaning and organizing large sets of transactional data. This is not a role for someone who wants to watch from the sidelines. You will work directly with invoice ledgers and shipping records to identify inconsistencies and prepare files for the reconstruction process. You will help build the models that our senior analysts use to verify assumptions about pricing and operational efficiency. A significant part of your day will involve technical auditing: checking formulas, validating data sources, and ensuring that the logic holding a model together is sound. You will also participate in the writing process, helping to draft the clear, evidence-based arguments that accompany every file we return to the client.
Helpful background
We do not expect you to have years of professional experience, but we do expect a high level of technical curiosity. This role is well-suited for a student or recent graduate in a quantitative field such as mathematics, economics, statistics, or engineering. You should be highly comfortable with spreadsheet software (Excel or similar) and have a basic understanding of how to manipulate data. Familiarity with SQL or basic Python is beneficial but not strictly required. What matters most is your ability to think logically and your willingness to admit when you do not know an answer. We value intellectual honesty above all else. If you enjoy taking apart a complex problem to see how the pieces fit together, you will find the work rewarding. You must be comfortable working in a self-directed, remote environment where communication happens primarily through writing.
How we work
Every file that leaves our workshop carries two names: one builder and one challenger. This is our fundamental operating model. While you will start as a builder, you will see the challenger analyze your work for weaknesses. This process is never personal: it is a rigorous method of ensuring that every assumption is tested before a file is closed. We do not have a schedule full of check-ins. We set clear objectives and then provide the quiet space necessary to achieve them. Because we are a fully remote team, we rely on clear, concise writing to stay aligned. We do not use video calls to fill time or meetings to deliberate on simple tasks. We work in sprints of deep focus, backed by the evidence found at the floor of the business.
What the role offers
This is a full-time internship that is fully remote, giving you the autonomy to manage your own workspace and schedule without the distractions of a physical office. You will receive direct mentorship through our builder and challenger model, which provides a level of technical feedback rarely found in larger firms. The internship is a paid position, and the compensation is competitive for the entry-level market and the complexity of the analytical work involved. You will gain hands-on experience by working on a major logistics and digital project where your contributions directly affect the final outcome. More importantly, you will learn how to build business models that are designed to survive the pressure of actual operations, moving beyond theory into the practical reality of financial and operational analysis.
Working at Mosaic Conseil requires a specific temperament. We prioritize the evidence of the invoice ledger over the convenience of a polished presentation. Our reputation is built on the fact that when we return a file, it is correct, verified, and ready for use. We look for people who take satisfaction in that level of precision and who prefer a quiet, remote environment where the quality of the analysis is the only metric that matters.
