Victor Osimhen is currently focusing with the Nigerian team to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations. The 25-year-old player scored 31 goals for Napoli last season, helping the Italian team win Serie A for the first time in 33 years. This season, injuries have caused Osimhen's performance to decline, but he is still the top target of Arsenal and Chelsea this January.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in a top-class striker, easing the burden on Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, while Mauricio Pochettino is disappointed with Nicolas Jackson's form, believing Osimhen can be a replacement.
However, it looks like Arsenal and Chelsea may be forced to abandon their pursuit of Osimhen, with the Nigeria international telling Sky Sports: “I'm happy with life at Napoli. I have a good relationship with the team leaders.
Since being signed in 2020, I have received great support from the President and the club's leaders. Currently I am happy in Italy, I want to give my best to Napoli. In the future, if I have the opportunity to come to England, I will consider it, that's for sure. But now I have other plans in my career that I'm looking forward to."
Osimhen has scored seven goals in 13 league games this season, but Napoli are only in eighth place in Serie A. The former Lille star got his name on the scoresheet in Nigeria's AFCON opener at the weekend , finding the equalizer for his team in a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea in Group A.
