Inspiration Poker Room Launched as First Tournament

Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort (photo), which has a casino exclusively for foreigners in Incheon, will watch a poker competition called the "P1 Circuit" to mark the opening of its poker room.

The gathering will run from Friday (Aug. 9) to Aug. 15, and will be described as "the first tournament event to begin even before the opening of poker rooms at Inspire Casino," according to a Friday press release through event organizers Global Venture Co., Ltd.

The announcement added that there was an expectation that the competition would "attract athletes from Japan and other Asian countries."

The Japanese update added, "The event is a large-scale poker competition and will be held four times a year in Inspire Korea and twice a year in Japan, which is expected to be a new movement in the poker world."

The P1 circuit was through 'P1 Grandprix', described as "a new poker business combining poker and entertainment in Japan," and the document said "supervision of the P1 management office."

The statement identified the tournament's organizers as Global Venture Co and its "partnership company" as Pacific Racing Team Co Ltd.

Mohegan Inspire opened its out-of-game facility on Nov. 30 last year, and then opened its foreigner-only casino on Feb. 3. There was an official opening for the property on Mar. 5.

Mohegan Inspire is promoted by the U.S.-based Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, which trades as Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment.
