To say the treatment is not to everyone’s liking would be an understatement, with many people being put off from the facial’s unique methods.
Dr Ross Perry, Medical Director of Cosmedics skin clinics, explained: "The Vampire Facial treatment involves taking some blood from your arm, extracting the concentrated plasma and then injecting this into your face, which is somehow actually less terrifying than the name suggests.
"It is still a fairly unpleasant treatment and only made fashionable via celebrity endorsements such as the Kardashians and Victoria Beckham."
Both Victoria Beckham and Ferne McCann have spoken about their blood therapy facial treatments after it was made popular by Kim Kardashian back in 2013.
According to The Sun, Ferne had the £750 treatment, where plasma from the blood is injected back into the face to erase wrinkles, performed by Dr Kannan Athreya at Essex Private Doctors.
Speaking of her treatment, Ferne said: “I am quite against going under the knife, so to keep looking fresh and youthful, I followed in Kim Kardashian’s footsteps and had the vampire facial.
“I admire Kim’s gruelling commitment to beauty. I think the whole world does. She always looks fantastic and is my beauty idol, so it’s part of my new regime.
“The facial felt actually, really relaxing. Because of the anaesthetic, you feel hardly anything.
“It’s a really good feeling. It feels like it’s going to make you look amazing and do wonders to the skin.”
The unusual facial is said to give clients instant plumping with increased hydration and glow.
It is claimed that the facial can reduce scars, fine lines and wrinkles, leaving clients with clearer and more youthful skin.
Dr Perry said: "The Vampire Facial is fairly controversial and some people think it works and others think it’s nonsense and merely the placebo effect.
"Personally I don’t think it works unless you are using on an area of skin that is not healing or is injured. Normal skin is not going through the healing process and as such there is nothing to repair."

Of course, as you can imagine, the treatment is not without its risks.
According to Healthline, “in 2018, the New Mexico Health Department closed a local spa after two cases of HIV transmission were possibly linked to Vampire Facials.
“Transmission of bloodborne disease is possible if the equipment is not sterilized.
“Despite risks, Vampire Facials are generally safe.”
The treatment also comes at quite a high cost, with spas in London charging hundreds of pounds for a single facial.
At The London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge a single treatment of the Vampire Facial starts from £550.
