Influencer Gabby Petito Killed, FBI Releases Warrant for His Lover's Arrest


The FBI has issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Laundrie, Gabby Petito's boyfriend for "unauthorized use of the device" following the death of the girl known as the travel influencer. He often uses the hashtag #vanlife in his posts on TikTok and other social media platforms.


The indictment says Brian Laundrie used a debit card and PIN number for accounts that did not belong to him between 30 August and 1 September.


Gabby Petito's body was found on Sunday 19 September in a park the couple had visited.


It is known, Laundrie is currently missing. His family said he was last seen on September 14.


Officials are looking for him in a Florida nature reserve.


The couple had been traveling for several weeks before 23-year-old Laundrie returned to Florida alone in their white van on September 1. He did not contact the police or Petito's family upon his return.


Gabby Petito Found Dead

Petito's family reported him missing 10 days later.


On Sunday, the 22-year-old girl's body was found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.


Authorities ruled his death a homicide but gave no indication of how he died.


The indictment issued Wednesday by the US Wyoming District Court said that Laundrie earned more than $1,000 (£730) with debit card transactions.


"While this arrest warrant allows law enforcement to arrest Laundrie, the FBI and our partners across the country continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of Petito's murder," FBI Special Agent Michael Schneider said in a statement.


Laundrie's attorney, Steve Bertolino, told Fox News that it was his "understanding that the arrest warrant relates to activities that occurred after Gabby Petito's death and is not related to his actual death".


Brian Laundry Reported Missing

The Laundrie family reported him missing over the weekend. They claim he left for a hike and never came back. He was considered a "person of interest" in the disappearance but had refused to speak to investigators prior to his disappearance.


Laundrie's search focused on the 24,000-acre nature reserve near her home in North Port, Florida.


Police used dogs, drones and all-terrain vehicles for the search, which officers said was complicated by the difficult and marshy terrain. Earlier this week, investigators also searched the Laundrie family's home.
