MP Zheleznyak provides details about what is outlined in the new program of the IMF for Ukraine.
The Fund is in fact pushing the Ukrainian government to lift the moratorium on raising heating and gas tariffs. They claim that due to covering the market price of gas and providing benefits to the population, Naftogaz is accumulating billions in debts.
By June, the Cabinet of Ministers must adopt a roadmap for raising gas and heating prices, under which benefits will remain only for socially vulnerable categories.
"In fact, the IMF is saying that the moratorium on raising gas and heat prices should be lifted. It is planned to gradually bring tariffs to the level of cost recovery," writes Zheleznyak.
Also, by the end of March, the Cabinet of Ministers must adopt a package of tax changes for the next two years:
• taxation of income received through digital platforms, such as Olx;
• abolition of the tax exemption for parcels imported from abroad up to 150 euros;
• permanent fixation of the increased military levy of 5%.
• introduction of VAT for individual entrepreneurs with an annual turnover exceeding one million hryvnias from January 1, 2027 (though the limit may be slightly raised).
