Surely, I can't be the only person who would rather save up that money and go to a nice place like Seattle or Chicago. Edit: I've been to Vegas more than 12 times now (lost count), and it just gets more and more boring to me. Old post but I just wanna add onto it since I'm here: I don't think anyone has ever said Vegas is a stable program. It's painful as hell, pretty cut and dry. The fact that Magix is selling this for $20 monthly or $300 annually is absolutely psychotic. Glad to see you had the willpower to get the hell away from this crap. I'm so used to the. Not one bit. 80 plus percent of the water goes to agriculture, the city actually uses relatively little and uses it very efficiently meaning much of the water that doesn't go straight into the ground is returned to the lake eventually. In an actual crisis, the amount given to agriculture would be reduced by 5 or 10 or 20% or whatever is needed. Vanilla New Vegas looks fantastic. I've been using ENB presets and high resolution textures for so long that whenever I see a screenshot or a video of vanilla New Vegas, it shocks me how good it still looks - and how "smooth", for lack of better words. I think it's the lighting, really. It’s hard bc I don’t look like anyone in my family. Not even my 100% brother and I look alike (he is pretty dark and sometimes gets Hispanic or Polynesian) What I do appreciate tho is that because people don’t know what race I am, they can’t attach racial stereotypes or attitudes to me. It allows for a much more genuine connection. They also deal a lot more with pre war ruins and stuff similar to fallout 1. Fallout new vegas is more generic, it wouldn't need to be fallout to be good, you could retexture and rename everything and you wouldnt think it to be fallout. Whereas the fallout world and name is more integral for 1, 2, 3 and 4. It's easy to think that Vegas crashes because it's shit, but realistically Vegas crashes because inexperienced video editors have unrealistic expectations of it. You can't just feed it any old video with no understanding of how digital video actually works. I do get it - Photoshop will take almost any image you throw at it and it doesn't crash because of a picture. But video is much more. I prefer 4 for a few reasons. I'll admit that New Vegas has a deeper story, better dialogue options, and more weapon variety. But it's too empty, and I find myself bored very often. Fallout 4 feels a bit more packed in, due to it being set in a more city-like area. Even the areas in between are nice. In short time is money and premiere is faster and less crashy. VEGAS Pro is simpler, but Premiere has more features. VEGAS Pro is still an exceptional video editor, but Adobe Premiere Pro is the best video editor, currently. I, like many others, started with VEGAS Pro and moved on to Adobe Premiere Pro. I've been using Vegas for 10 years now. If you havent startet playing, think about following Viva New Vegas instead and change your Mod Manager. Right now it might be fine, but later on you will run into problems when trying to add mods. Its hard to help people with modding that use Vortex as it is missing most functionality you need for modding. 3. It’s extremely negative and there is so much addiction and people who are very rude. It’s like most people are in a bad mood 24/7 that live here. It’s definitely a visit ( or not) for a short period of time and leave kind of place. I've tried to explain to Midwestern people what Vegas people are like. The people sitting around you will be too absorbed with the show to think about you and why you are sitting alone watching a show or concert. The only one person that will think it weird is you. You don’t know these people around you, they don’t know you and 99.99% of the time you won’t see them again once you leave the theater. Harvard : r/ApplyingToCollege. The thing about Harvard, is the Harvard degree more prestigious and employers will value that more. The prestige of institutions like Harvard doesn't necessarily equate to success. My cousin's top-tier hedge fund company hires engineers based on their skills and knowledge. I prefer to think of residencies as a reverse tour where fans can come on a date that suits them better than wait for a tour to reach them. Also, residencies are a great fit forml artists who have other obligations and priorities that would keep them from touring. Finally, residencies are a great way to expand upon a fan base. Las Vegas is overrated for the most part. Unless you’re a millionaire, Las Vegas isn’t really that fun. Don’t get me wrong, it is a very unique city. However, if you don’t find hours of gambling or drinking a blast, you run out of things to do quickly. I’d rather go somewhere else for the same amount of money. Archived post. I think I agree with you. A lot of the touristy stuff on the strip can definitely be overrated/overpriced but I also think because of Las Vegas's entire reputation being mega resorts on the strip to the outside world I think the city's local scene is definitely underrated. mostlyarmy. Las Vegas is overrated Everything is outrageously expensive ($9 bottle of water), people smoke cigarettes inside of everywhere, trying to get an Uber is a pain in the ass, the streets are riddled with homeless and crackheads, all of the constant flashing lights and signs are overstimulating, it’s so damn hot all of the time. drmlee • 9 yr. ago. this is 100% accurate and true. ive probably been to vegas literally at least 100-150 times, if not more. i always have a blast every time, but its very expensive fun. i can goto vegas for 3-4 days or go on a real vacation anywhere in the world for 1-2 weeks and it usually costs about the same. 2. I don't gamble. I don't do drugs anymore. Admittedly sometimes I still get ripping drunk and act real stupid but doing it in Las Vegas seems to bring out violent anger in me. You are right. I hate the place. It IS full of douchebags of every variety. Nope. FUCK VEGAS. JOE ROGAN - LAS VEGAS : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzNnwveHcZc. Yes, Vegas is not a ritzy place for the most part. It is more of a come as you are and act as you normally wouldn't kind of place, and it certainly is not for everyone. One interesting thing to note is that if you spend enough time there you will discover that the people who have real money are typically in flip-flops and shorts as. 5 - Star Rated Las Vegas Tours & Activities! Easy Book & Flexible Cancellation Policy. 5 - Star Rated Las Vegas Strip Tours & Tickets! Easy Book & Flexible Cancellation Policy. I live in Las Vegas. My general opinion as a person who lives here is that Vegas is full of opportunity. You want to have ox tail soup at 3am? There a place that's open. How about skydiving on a Tuesday? We've got that too. Trying to better your life and go to school? We have tons of options of things you can learn and do, and night school too. I love Las Vegas, but I like to drink. I generally go there once or twice a year. A couple reasons why: I started going there because I lived in a town of 60k people that sees snow and bitter cold from October to April, sometimes May. The airport only flew 2 places direct. Las Vegas and Minneapolis. When I first turned 21 it was 100$ish for a. My opinion changes depending on what I’m there for and who I go with, but I generally have a good time. It’s not for everyone, and that’s ok too It’s not for everyone, and that’s ok too Reply reply. It is fucking hot in the summer and the wind blows constantly in the winter. Roads are constantly under construction. The education system — all levels — is poor. Public services are better in some locales (Henderson) than others (City of Las Vegas). Vegas is otherwise the burbs if you live in areas described by others and stay away from the ones they mention. My general thought is don't live east of Fort Apache/Rampart Rd but others mileage may vary. Vegas is also weird with bizarre pockets of bad areas. Get a good realtor who has an answer to a question about these. So yes, one is overrated and the other overhated because there is more to these games than "roleplaying". I appreciate New Vegas, I like that modded New Vegas is quite possibly my favorite game ever, but in its vanilla state (and assuming we count in bugfixing mods) it isn't a particularly "amazing" videogame. New vegas is just so stiff and boring (imo). Its extremely easy to die and the combat makes it feel unenjoyable. Sure theres plenty of character and role playing options, but if traversing the world and combat are unenjoyable, what's the point?. It's not even Fallout New Vegas that is overrated,it's the entire franchise itself that is overrated. I mean seriously, what's so different and unique about fallout compared to other rpg games? I even tried playing them myself,I got too bored and just felt like the world is being empty. Fallout new Vegas is overrated. I’m not saying new vegas is a bad game because the story of new vegas is quite gripping however the reason why most people say new vegas is the best game is because they are trying to act edgy, most people who have said new vegas is the best have not even played the damn game which infuriates me as. 18 avr. 2016 · Do you think Fallout: New Vegas is overrated? I've seen a lot of people, on this forum, reddit, gaming forums and even real life, praising New Vegas to no end. (That's not a bad thing, though) They say it's one of the best RPGs of all time, or how it knocks Fallout 3 and 4 out of the park and does absolutely everything better. 22 juin 2024 · Published Jun 22, 2024 There are a lot of unpopular opinions floating around Reddit that concern Fallout New Vegas. Here's a look at some. Unanimously, there has been mostly praise for Fallout: New Vegas. After all, Obsidian Entertainment has a pedigree of being the dark horse of the RPG genre. Vegas Pro is horrible, and you have to stop pretending it isn't. Other 5 Crashes, 20 minutes. Absolutely Unbelievable. I'm done. I'm glad i never spent a single cent on Vegas in the past 6 years I've been editing. I've done every conceivable action to prevent vegas from crashing and it doesn't work period. On my current PC (i9-12900/128GB RAM/RTX 3080 Ti), Vegas 19 and 20 have been very stable, more stable than older Magix versions. Still, I keep auto-save turned on and save manually often. (Cracked versions of Vegas have almost always performed faster and run more stably than licensed versions. This is true of lots of software). Recently upgraded from Vegas Pro 10 (which I really liked, and stuck with for a long long time because it had a built-in stabilizer that worked well with fast FPV footage, while the one in later versions did not) to VP20. I even had a workaround using Debug Proxy to get HW accelerated renders and such. Why does VEGAS Pro suck so much? How did they do that? I used this editing software for about 10 years. It used to be one of the best choices for a YouTuber but the damn thing still has as many if not more bugs than it always had. I shouldn't be required to debug anything, download other DLLs, codecs or provide PC specs. Vegas Pro just stops responding sometimes under load. Rusty_Gunn is correct that the main culprit is "GPU acceleration of video processing", especially if you have an Nvidia gpu. This goes way back. Vegas has not had proper optimization for Nvidia cards since the Fermi architecture - the GTX 5xx and lower cards. Vegas through Steam has been notorious for being terrible. Compatibility with the steam client is screwed. Same goes for pirated versions as they don't get the hotfixes you'd typically see as software matures. Best option is, when you eventually go for an upgrade. Get it through the Vegas website. No, it's going to be fine. Historically, this isn't unusual. The inflow water coming down the Colorado River falls within the normal range. While we are in drought conditions, the problem is the amount of water being taken out of Lake Mead, not the amount going into it. Considering today is day 213 without rain in Vegas I would say yes, its inevitable that we will eventually run out of water. Maybe not in my lifetime but possibly in our children's. Is anyone in Las Vegas worried about Lake Mead and Water Availability? Lake Mead supplies 90% of Las Vegas’ water supply. It’s historically low and it doesn’t look like it will improve soon. Are people in Vegas aware? Is it a problem? Do you think it will get fixed? If you had to move from Vegas because of water availability where would you go? 87. Now, the reality: In terms of water supply, probably not. We apparently don't use much of the Lake, and have a massive groundwater reserve in case the Lake actually did run out. We probably will always have enough water supply for the foreseeable future, in general. Las Vegas is absolutely NOT running out of water, the Lower Colorado River Basin is overallocated and can't provide enough to all it's users. (I studied the hydrology of the CRB at UNLV) Southern Nevada still uses less than it's allocation it was granted in the Colorado River Compact, and returns most of the water it uses. 9 nov. 2024 · Thu, Nov 9, 2024 (2 a.m.) Is Las Vegas going to run out of water? It might feel that way if you’ve been paying any attention to the growing bathtub ring around Lake Mead, the shrinking. You ever just play New Vegas vanilla? With 0 mods even thought you have the capability to run almost 100 of them. Its surprising liberating to not have to trouble shoot for like 30 minutes because the grenade hot key loaded before the master for some other file. I used to play new vegas heavily modded before fallout 4 but now I only play vanilla since it's simply frustrating having a mod conflict or a mod that refuses to work after spending 2 hours installing mods, now I only play with the unoffical patch and fellout. New Vegas Vanilla is pretty decent but its a little rough around the edges. If you want to experience a more finished/balanced game I suggest you use the JSawyer mod (Mod created by game director to include changes that couldnt be shipped with the game) But the game is pretty decent even without it.. When it comes to graphic and shooting, New Vegas is outdated. However, people don't love New Vegas for those, they love New Vegas for its story, characters, and quests. I don't know what you look for in a Fallout game. If you're looking for a fun open-world shooter looter, then 4 is best in that. Imagine how cool it would be. I think vanilla plus is the sweet spot, maybe a quest mods or two to spice things up. Unlike 4, the new vegas vanilla game is still legitimately great with no additions. That said there are mods that make new vegas objectively better than the vanilla game. Being racially ambiguous is a different struggle all together. So I’m half Japanese half white american (Nordic, Italian, Irish). And I feel like the biggest struggle for me is looking racially ambiguous. People can never guess what I am, and in turn, no community claims me. For the most part, I feel like being racially and ethnically ambiguous has put me in the position where people sometimes direct micro aggressions, racism and general bigoted statements towards me that don't actually apply to me the way they think they will. As someone who's multiracial and decidedly racially ambiguous, I've never found the term offensive, particularly when it's used specifically to poke fun at how we interact with race, which is basically what you were doing. It's something that as a white person you'll want to be careful with (akin to the way non-queer people should be. Zolome1977 • 1 yr. ago. I’ve had a lot of experience with issues with me being gay and racially ambiguous. When I was single gay white men would say I was the acceptable Asian because I looked it but wasn’t actually. What’s sad is that some gay Asian men would say the same thing. I speak from personal experience. When I tried to identify into one racial group(the one I most looked like) you will never be truly accepted in a monoracial group if you’re mixed and ambiguous looking. It’s a bit different when you’re ambiguous looking and monoracial but it’s a different ballpark when you’re mixed. If that. Overall, I think that racism is probably worse if you're black, asian, or indian. Being ambiguous is a nice thing because you could pass for a lot of countries. If you are middle eastern person who dresses and acts like a westerner, you won't get white privilege, but racism will be very rare to you compared to something a black. Struggles of being mixed race or biracial and racially ambiguous? What this says about the United States? Discussion Hi everyone. I am just simply half black and half white , so just biracial but I have been asked throughout my life the questions “ What are you?” Or “ What’s your race “? How many here can relate ? Comment . Just Chatting. I don't understand why some people are so mean. People can be so mean, rude, condescending, self centered, selfish and I just don't get it. I'm a misanthrope and I hate people but I'll never be mean, rude or condescending to someone for free. I know how to be fair and empathetic. I think some people choose to acknowledge the good in people, they believe that the world is innately good and thus are surprised when someone would do something to hurt them, it doesn’t fit their world view. I used to think like that up until the past couple years. I’ve been through a lot since I was young and kept that view until more. This is so true. I see it all the time on reddit. Seems like everyone is talking about it now. I know some of it is because we talk about it more, but I cant help wondering if more people are actually feeling fucked up because the world has become so shitty and people are so isolated and lonely now. I think they do it because they think they can get away with doing it to those people because those people love them. They wish they could do it to other people but they can't, so they do it in the only situation where they have power and control - at home. 4sails Why do so many people have anxiety and depression? It seems like such a large % of people are depressed or suffer from some sort of anxiety. I don't suffer from depression but have mild anxiety that is progressively getting better now that I don't work a job I hate and have some sort of purpose/make my own hours. I think of myself as a smart person, but I've met a few people who were so much quicker and deeper and more knowledgeable than me even in my career field that it was humbling. And they were the same age as me. [Edit: one of them later became a full professor at Stanford, so ]. I overall prefer the setting, because it isn. I prefer Fallout 3 and 4 over New Vegas. I don't care what anyone says about that. I like New Vegas a lot but imo 4 is a much more fun game. New Vegas is a superior RPG, but FO 4 has better companions, a better world, and better game play. Fallout 4 is way more fun because it works well. Graphics are good, gunplays great and the location. I’ll choose fallout new vegas anyday over fo4. The content and dlcs bring fo4 to a whole new level of immersion. New Vegas has that nostalgia surrounding it and also the story line. Following fallout 3 it did a hugely successful job. Yes, I know mods make New Vegas better, but then again that applies to every game. I can peek into containers in FO4 without having to open them, I can choose more speeds than walk and jog, grenades are kept in an offhand slot, and guns can have bayonets. Traders and explorers would’ve seen something. I read the posts and want to believe, but Fallout 4 is far superior than New Vegas. Ah yes, it's only better if we ignore one of the key points of the fallout series, bravo. Lol no, much prefer the new Vegas music both made by the devs and otherwise. I would go so far as to say that Fallout 4 only does four things better than New Vegas. Those being moment-to-moment gunplay, power armor, exploration/random encounters, and graphics. If you havent startet playing, think about following Viva New Vegas instead and change your Mod Manager. Right now it might be fine, but later on you will run into problems when trying to add mods. Its hard to help people with modding that use Vortex as it is missing most functionality you need for modding. I'm having issues with modding Fallout New Vegas, and this was the first place I could see myself receiving answers. (Make sure to read image captions.) I'm quite computer illiterate, and so I'm trying to use Vortex as my mod manager (which of course is not suggested if I do recall.). I’m having some modding issues can anyone help? It’s my first time modding Fallout New Vegas, so I followed gophers guide pretty much to the letter. After getting everything installed I started it up and changed a few of the tweaks from the mod Stewie’s tweaks. First time modding FNV and having problems Title says it all. I followed ESO’s video on how to install mods for New Vegas (Heres the link: https://youtu.be/7F1rsvhVNgI ). Did everything step by step. But now my character only walks, cant use the interact button, and is always blocking/using iron sights. Use New Vegas Tick Fix it's the updated version of Stutter Remover. If that isn't enough use windowed fullscreen. People like to hardcore bash it (because Harvard, people like to voice their unpopular opinions here) but they're also mostly wrong. It's somewhere in the middle, between the complaints and the praise, like most great schools. Spending four years at Harvard was definitely a hard time for me. I just graduated in June, and ever since then it feels like a weight has slowly been lifted off of me and I've rediscovered what it's like to be a happy, confident, curious and creative person. Some background: I came from a very good highschool in the Midwest that I. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that people around them are getting more and more selfish, self-centered, mean and shrewd slowly and gradually? Archived post. Like it says in the title, is it just me, or do students really not understand you shouldn't do that? It happens to me a few times a session, some students will just do this: "Hello (insert my first name here)" in an email or sometimes on the discussion forums, and I make it pretty clear that I would like to be called Instructor. Question. A lot of times whenever someone insults me or cracks a joke I like to purposely pretend that I don’t understand what they are trying to say and effectively play dumb. It helps me get out of many sticky situations, especially if it is in the context of someone insulting me, as I feel like most insult fall flat when I don’t. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like as of lately online dating has had a negative impact on their mental health? 28F here, just wanting to hear others peoples perspectives both men and women. I really feel like online dating has been making me feel more negative than positive as of lately. The basic idea is that a Vegas residency is for acts in their twilight years - they were big stars at some point so there's enough interest for tourists to check them out in Vegas but they're not really artistically relevant anymore, or they're at least content to stay in their respective lane. Vegas is not for everyone, but if your goal is to stretch you money and save for a few years then Vegas is a good bet, no pun intended! The food, well there are so many places that are awesome. At the end of the day it is what you make of it. I don’t play but if you do, then Las Vegas is the place to be. GOOD BUT RARE NEIGHBORHOOD. There are really nice neighborhoods but they are far that’s why I mentioned otherwise in cons. Sumerlin, Inspirada, Green Valley South, Far Hills and a few other places. You make good arguments but sounds like you are bias to home/LA. Ive lived in both and vegas is better by far. I would take hot 115 weather and affordable housing any day over the cost of living in LA. Traffic is not bad here AT ALL. It can take you 30 minutes to get from one end of Vegas to the other end. LA will take you 2 hours. You have to.
