"Please think of how you might feel if the shoe was yours to wear."
Iggy Azalea released a statement after topless photos from a 2016 GQ photo shoot were leaked onto the Internet. The artist, who deleted her social media pages amidst the leak on Monday (May 27), stated that she never consented to her topless photos being released, and they were not supposed to ever see the light of day.
“There was no reason for anyone to have kept the outtakes from the shoot,” wrote Azalea in a now-deleted statement. “I’m surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected.”
Not only did she acknowledge that she feels “blindsided, embarrassed, violated” and more, she is also appalled at the way that people are reacting to the leak, especially men.
“A lot of the comments I see, from men in particular, sharing their thoughts and fantasies in regards to my body has honestly disturbed me,” she continues. “I fully intended on finding out where the leak originated from and pressing criminal charges in regards to this.”
The “Sally Walker” MC finished her statement by writing that it’s important to find out who leaked these photos, and that they be held “accountable for their actions” and the impact it is having on her life.
Photographer Nino Munoz, who handled the shoot, wrote that he is displeased with the leak, and will work with Azalea to find the perpetrator. “My heart goes out to anyone this situation has affected,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “I’m utterly outraged and will not rest until justice is served.”

(CNN) — Rapper Iggy Azalea deactivated her Instagram and Twitter accounts after topless photos of her surfaced which she said left her feeling “violated.”
The images appeared online over the weekend and Azalea said in a since-deleted note on social media that they were from a 2016 GQ magazine shoot.
“There was no reason for anyone to have kept the outtakes from the shoot,” she wrote. “I’m surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected.”
Azalea wrote in her note “A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand, etc, covering their breasts.”
“I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity,” she wrote. “I hadn’t seen other women’s covers leak so I felt comfortable (on a closed set) to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering [my breasts] would be considered for print.”
Azalea said she was “a ball of negative emotions.”
“I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad and a million other things,” her note said.”Not solely because I did not consent to this — but also because of the vile way people have reacted.”
The “Fancy” star vowed legal action against whoever leaked the images.
Nino Munoz, the photographer who handled the GQ assignment, posted a note on Instagram Monday about the controversy.
“My heart goes out to anyone this situation has affected,” he wrote. “I’m utterly outraged and will not rest until justice is served.” Munoz said an investigation into the leak is ongoing.
GQ Australia provided CNN with a statement from its editor, Michael Christensen.
“We were very disappointed to learn that outtakes from a 2016 photo shoot which were not approved or intended for publication appear to have been stolen from the photographer,” the statement read. “We understand an investigation is underway and join the condemnation of the publication of these images.”

UPDATE: Hours after the surfacing of nude photos she'd taken for a 2016 GQ Australia photoshoot on Monday (May 27), Iggy Azalea re-activated her Twitter account and released a statement on the matter.
In the statement, which was written on what appear to be virtual iPhone Notes sheets, Iggy expresses her disappointment and frustration with both the leak of the photos and the reactions to the images. She plans to take the issue to court.
"I fully intend on finding out where the leak originated from and pressing criminal charges."
You can read everything Iggy has to say about the matter for yourself in the screenshots below:
Iggy Azalea has deactivated her Twitter and Instagram accounts after nude photos of her leaked onto the internet on Monday (May 27).
News of the leak began to permeate the internet earlier today. The pics reportedly come from a photo shoot that allegedly took place years ago, and the session was shot by photographer Nino Muñoz for GQ Australia . However, afterward Iggy apparently opposed their release and they were not to be put out. Somehow, they made their way to the internet. After having an abundance of inappropriate comments flood her social media accounts, Iggy decided to leave social media for the time being.
This isn't the first time Iggy has deactivated her social media accounts. In 2015, the former XXL Freshman quit Instagram and Twitter. That time, she offered a statement before leaving social media.
“I don’t care about being relevant. I just want to live my life and deserve for whatever I do in the privacy of my own property not to be on a blog," she wrote. "That’s just human decency and if it’s hard for you to understand then you have a warped sense of reality. I’m not here for yall, don’t want or need you to talk about me and would be wildly happy if being irrelevant meant being able to check the mail in the morning without seeing a photographer hiding out in a car across the street. Peace!”
XXL has reached out to Iggy's camp for comment on the leak.
